Two Ramadans in one year The last time there were two Ramadans was in 1997 and the next time there will be two Ramadans is expected to be 2030. Having two Ramadans in one calendar year is a rare opportunity, and there are several Islamic benefits to be drawn from it: 1. Increased Rewards for Fasting: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever fasts during Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2014). With two Ramadans, Muslims have more chances for forgiveness and accumulating good deeds. 2. More Nights of Laylat al-Qadr: Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Decree, is described in the Qur'an as better than a thousand months (Surah Al-Qadr 97:3). Experiencing two Ramadans in one year means having two opportunities to seek this powerful night and its immense blessings. 3. Zakaat and Charity: Ramadan is a time when many Muslims give Zakaat. The Qur'an encourages giving charity, saying, "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts seven ears, in every ear a hundred grains" (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:261). With two Ramadans, Muslims can give more frequently and gain multiplied rewards. By having two Ramadans in one year, Muslims are granted increased opportunities for worship, self-purification, and blessings from Allah.

Shāykh al-Mutaʾakhirīn Ibn Taymiyyah al-Mutaʾakhirīn al-Ḥarrānī - Raḥimahullāh - defines Ikrāh when talking about prostraring to the Creation: He said: ❝If a person is coerced into doing so in such a way that if they do not comply, it would lead to them being beaten, imprisoned, having their wealth taken, or losing their rightful sustenance from the public treasury, or similar harm: then it is permissible according to most scholars. For coercion, according to most of them, permits committing a forbidden act, such as drinking alcohol or the like. This is the well-known position of Aḥmad (Ibn Ḥanbal) and others. However, the person must still hate it in their heart and strive to avoid it as much as possible. Whoever is sincere in their intent, Allah will help them, and they may even be relieved from the situation by the blessing of their sincerity.❞ 📕| Majmūʿ al-Fatāwā 1/373.
