In the search for a good husband or wife, you must not lose yourself. Signing up for a dating site to find a spouse is truly hopeless. What kind of husband or wife do you expect to find there? For those who fear Allah, He will provide a better way out.
"And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out, and will provide for him from where he does not expect."
(Surah At-Talaq 65:2-3)

The people who primarily dislike Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdulwahhab (رحمه الله) generally fall into the following groups:
1. Sufis and Extreme Sufi Orders
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdulwahhab opposed shirk and bid'ah, including certain Sufi practices such as invoking the dead and building shrines over graves.
Many Sufi groups view his da'wah as a direct attack on their beliefs and practices.
2. Ash'aris and Maturidis
His da'wah followed the Salaf methodology, meaning he explained tawheed according to the understanding of the Salaf, including affirming Allah’s Names and Attributes without ta'wil (figurative interpretation).
Ash'ari and Maturidi theologians, who have a different approach to Allah’s Names and Attributes, strongly criticized him because of their misguided Aqeedah.
3. Shia (Rafidha and other sects)
He rejected their doctrines, such as the veneration of imams and seeking help from Ahlul Bayt.
His rejection of shirk and bid’ah clashed with the foundations of Shi'ite beliefs.
4. Ottoman Loyalists and Their Scholars
At the time, the Ottoman Empire controlled many Islamic lands and collaborated with certain religious factions such as extreme sufi grave worshippers.
His reformist movement was seen as a threat to the established order, especially since "Wahhabism" (as his da'wah was later labeled) became associated with Najdi political independence.
5. Modernists and Secularists
His emphasis on shari'ah and his opposition to Western influences in Islamic society clashed with secular and modernist ideas.
They view his teachings as "outdated" or "rigid" in a world where they seek to reshape Islam according to modern values.
6. Liberal Muslims and Progressives
Those who promote a "soft" Islam centered around spiritual freedom and individualism see his da’wah as too strict and conservative.
They often accuse him of "intolerance" toward other Islamic sects.
7. Orientalists and Western Critics
Many Western historians and media outlets portray him as the founder of a "radical" Islamic movement.
This narrative stems from a colonial and political agenda that seeks to depict orthodox Islam as a threat.
Ultimately, most people who dislike him are those who uphold innovations (bid’ah), shirk, or political agendas that oppose the true Islam (Qur'an&Sunnah). Those who study his books and da’wah without bias usually develop a very different perspective from what his opponents propagate.
