The NU Awards are looking for Student Representatives for this year's Selection Committee! Student Representatives will participate in the process of creating a shortlist of nominees who will proceed to the final round of voting. All NU students can become a student representative and contribute to making the shortlisting process fair. The club will be nominated for its exceptional contributions, which include: ‼️ commits to advancing scientific knowledge and academic excellence within its field; ☀️ aids students in enhancing their academic performance; 👌 actively promotes language learning, international engagement, and/or cultural diversity; ⭐️ encourages networking and collaboration among students with similar academic interests; 🍙 holds events, workshops, or seminars that foster students’ academic growth. Welcome Mentor of the Year 🎩 Drawing from deep-rooted wisdom, this mentor instills discipline, perseverance, and resilience in their mentees, equipping them to tackle any challenge with grace and determination. The Next Award – Athlete of the Year 💪 We recognize outstanding individuals who demonstrate exceptional athletic performance, dedication to their sport, and active participation in the university’s sports community. To qualify for this nomination, candidates must: 🏆 good academic performance with a cGPA of 3.00 or higher; 🏆 outstanding performance as a member of a NU sports team or club; 🏆 participation in competitions both within and beyond Nazarbayev University; 🏆 commitment to fostering sportsmanship by contributing to the university’s sports teams or clubs, including physical sports, mind sports, and e-sports. Freshman of the Year ⭐️ We recognize outstanding individuals who excel academically, demonstrate dedication to their work, and actively contribute to extracurricular activities. To qualify for this nomination, candidates must: 🔝 good academic performance and GPA of 3.00 and higher for 1st year students, and grades above 75/100 for each subject for Foundation year students; 🔴 absence of academic and non-academic misconduct; ▶️ outstanding participation in extracurricular activities within NU and beyond. We present you «Research Contribution of the Year» Award! 🔬 We are seeking nominees who exemplify intellectual curiosity and outstanding achievement in their field of research. This award recognizes researchers who have made significant contributions to their area of study. Nominees must meet the following criteria: 🔭 Good academic performance and cGPA of 3.00 and higher; 🔭 Presenting/submission of a research publication(s) in academic conferences; 🔭 Posted research publication(s) in academic journals; 🔭 Participate in research activities (assistantship or independent research). The ideal candidate for this prestigious award will meet the following criteria: 💎 Excellent academic performance and a cGPA of 3.5 and higher; 💎 Participate in extracurricular activities. They can include, but are not limited to: 💎 Participation in various olympiads, conferences, research projects, and sports contests; 💎 involvement in any kind of online/offline projects or internships; special scholarships; 💎 leadership roles in clubs and organizations. We are excited to unveil the first award of this year - Tolyq Adam ✨ Tolyq Adam, as described by Abai Qunanbaiuly, is an individual characterized by a generous spirit, sharp intellect, and dynamic energy. This award celebrates those at Nazarbayev University who embody these traits and are committed to making a positive impact within the university, throughout Kazakhstan, and across the globe. Abai Qunanbaiuly, known for his deep wisdom and impactful teachings, would be an ideal recipient of this honor. The Tolyq Adam award is given to a Nazarbayev University student who has shown: ✨ Demonstrates excellent academic performance, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.33 or above; ✨ Exhibits a kind heart through participation in extracurricular activities that promote humanity, respect, cultural diversity, and justice; ✨ Shows a bright mind by engaging in academic endeavors that foster intellectual curiosity, global awareness, and a proactive stance on challenges; ✨ Displays conscious energy by committing to leadership roles, maintaining an active lifestyle, and taking personal and social responsibilities, thereby serving as a model for others.
