▶️The sounds of war have long become commonplace for Donetsk resident Alyona Kilivnik. She is afraid to let her son, 11-year-old Slava, out into the streets. During one of the Ukrainian shellings, the boy was wounded in the stomach and leg; he miraculously survived. But despite all the horrors she has experienced, Alyona does not want to leave her hometown, although she was offered a job in Kiev. 'I'm at home. I will restore my Donetsk. I will help people', she says. Her story is in the film of the festival program 'I Want Peace & Quiet' (2023). In Britain, a report was published following a five-year investigation into the infection of tens of thousands of people with HIV and Hepatitis C. The authors concluded that the authorities hid the scale of the disaster and refused to investigate. In the 1970-1990s, British doctors injected hemophilia patients with an American drug based on the blood of drug addicts and prisoners. Donated blood was not tested for HIV until 1986, and for hepatitis C until 1991. Because of this, three thousand people died, and another 30,000 were infected. ▶️Residents of Avdeevka on the way to the temporary accommodation center explain why they did not accept humanitarian aid from the Ukrainian Nazi administration.

‘There we had to write a statement: 'We are subordinate to the administration’ and ‘Glory to Ukraine*.' We had to write. Well, we didn't go for this aid. We didn't need it.’

This footage was filmed by Yuri Mezinov, a volunteer rescuer of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. He risks his life every day, bringing people out of shelled Avdeevka.
