▶️Farmers in India are committing suicide due to a lack of water. Drought has gripped some parts of the country, leading to an agricultural crisis. Once fertile land has turned into a desert and natural springs are running dry. Water is brought to villages only once a week in tanks, which are then sold to local residents. Farners are forced into debt that they cannot repay in the end.
Why is India facing a water crisis? And what are the solutions that Indians are looking for? The answers can be found in our film 'H2WOE'. Watch it on World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought.

🟢On 17 June 1925, the Protocol for the Prohibition of the Use of Asphyxiating, Poisonous or Other Gases, and of Bacteriological Methods of Warfare was signed in Geneva. The document placed a legal barrier to the use of chemical and bacteriological weapons, but did not prohibit their development, production and stockpiling.
Japanese Emperor Hirohito took advantage of this. On his secret order, Unit 731 was created. During World War II, the group worked on the development of extremely deadly biological weapons. Employees conducted monstrous experiments on living people — from injections with plague and anthrax agents to operations without anaesthesia and unimaginable torture.
Who was their target? Find out in Tatiana Borsch's film 'Death Factories'.

🟢Which countries played a crucial role in rewriting Ukraine's history? And who invented the ‘Ukrainian identity’?

The U.S. has lifted the ban on arms supplies to Azov*. Earlier, Washington had officially blocked the battalion's use of American arms. The U.S. authorities believed that some of the squad's founders held racist and ultranationalist views, and UN human rights officials accused the group of humanitarian violations. But now, according to an excerpt from a new State Department statement, after a thorough review, U.S. authorities have found no evidence of human rights abuses in the battalion's actions.
Azov* was created in 2014 as volunteer paramilitary force. Its members openly preach Nazi ideology and commit brutal crimes against humanity. In 2023, the brigade was included in the National Guard of Ukraine.
Learn about the history of the battalion and its participants in our excerpt from Olga Kiriy and Artyom Somov's documentary, ‘Azov’s Last Stand’.
