#studyadvice from #tofustudies was gonna make a youtube video but I'm like ahhhhh it's gonna take too long there's As... 1. Know what you need to study - Look through the content list so you know where to refer to when you’re lost. - Visualise a rough structure in your head so you know where what you need goes. 2. Comparison aids memory - The process of differentiating helps us remember things better. - Can draw charts and memorise what goes on the left, far left, right, far right, etc. 3. Draw pictures/ diagrams - Only draw what you can’t learn without drawing (textbooks have the rest) - You’re the only one who needs to be able to understand your notes - Don’t be a perfectionist and spend too much time drawing. 4. Draw pictures/ diagrams -After reading you may find that you’ve forgotten it the next day or the day of the exam itself. - To counter that use active recall. E.g. read seven subtopics and write what you can remember if you can’t remember any of them, go back and revise it again. Blurting - E.g. If you find reading lengthy passages boring and menial, make a blank page and write main ideas and connections, diversions, or conversions of ideas. After every 10-20 pages, go back and active recall. 5. Don’t read ace but instead ab, cd, ef. a Korean term b English term c Korean term d English term e Korean term f English term 6. Your Environment matters more than your Determination But if you can’t change your environment, influence it. If your friends are gaming all day and not studying your determination may be affected. If your determination can make you go to the library and stay focussed for hours, then that’s really good habit forming. Studying is formed by many good habits. The earlier you start, the better as habits take time. 7. Ask your friends/ AI/ the Web You know this is going to be tested and you’re unclear about it? Don’t treat this gap in knowledge as something to skirt over. Unless there’s no answer or explanation available, and you’ve been stuck on it for more than thirty minutes in which case, asking your teacher, friends or even viewing Youtube videos might help (consider that people go to tuition because their tutor explains things more clearly to them) When reading the explanation/ answer go for quality over quantity. Finish one before the next or go to friends for help. 8. Not all wrongly answered questions are impt Just get the main point in corrections! Don’t need to copy the whole explanation. 9. Past Papers/ Exam Paper Setter’s Patterns.Understand why they are testing what they are testing, what are they thinking, how would the tester want the student to answer. 10. Create one book of main points you’ve remembered or things you’ve forgotten and want to revise again. 11. Use spare time wisely Don’t let previous mistakes in exams deter you from going on! Or it’ll create a cycle of failure. 5 mins of waiting time for the mrt adds up to 25 minutes when it’s 5 days a week! Spend time and don’t let time spend you 😄

#studytips hi loves . i have decided to post some sch related stuffs from today onwards since it's the eoy season ! hope these will help 🙏.

unseen poem tips! 1. reading with engagement ⁃ read the title of the poem first to get an idea of the poem ⁃ read poem aloud in ur head to get a sense of how it may sound ( like for rhythm and rhyme ) ⁃ read the poem slower to be able to analyse the details of the poem in greater detail !!! ⁃ impt to note the voice tone and mood the speaker/poet uses !!! As sometimes the tone adopted could be relevant to the overall theme of the poem and contribute to the mood of it 2. for techniques question ⁃ focus esp on diction!!! impt as this is supposedly what markers wld look out for (( but must be specific with the type of diction used ) ⁃ know ur structure ( enjambement ) not rly required but if the poem u do has like punctuations in certain places it good to take note as some times it reflects the theme/story (??) of the poem and shows the markers that you have a deep understanding of the poem. ⁃ under structure, it’s also good to note for things like repetition and alliteration and it can be used to emphasise something ⁃ generally, it’s also good to include imagery, irony, metaphor but when using imagery it’s better to be specific. E.g for imagery there’s auditory, visual, olfactory, tactile and gustatory ⁃ plus points if you are able to link ur analysis back to the title !! not a must but a good to have ⁃ oh and make sure every evidence you quote is analysed.
