MATTHEW 16:13 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What do people know you to be? In the year 2010, when Billy Graham celebrated his 92nd birthday, he told people a very heart-touching story about Albert Einstein, the famous scientist. According to the story, Albert Einstein was in a train travelling to a place. Then, the train conductor began to move from seat to seat to check passenger’s tickets to confirm those who had paid the train fare. When the conductor came to Albert Einstein, Einstein checked his pocket and everywhere but could not find his ticket. The train conductor saw how desperate Albert Einstein was. Then the conductor said to him, “Albert Einstein, I know you. Do not bother looking for it. You cannot cheat us. I know who you are, just that you cannot find your train ticket.” The conductor went on to other passengers and kept on checking for their tickets. The question is, what do people know you to be? If someone knows you, what or who does the person know you to be? As the train conductor continued checking, he returned and still saw Albert Einstein looking for the ticket. Then he said to Albert Einstein, “I said we know who you are, and so you should not bother. Why are you still looking for the ticket?” Then Albert Einstein said to the conductor, “Conductor, you know who I am. I also know who I am and where I am coming from. But my problem is that I do not know where I am going. I need to check the ticket to know where I’m going.” What a confession! It is not enough to know who you are; it is important to know where you are going. Beloved, if anything had happened to you last night, would you have made it to heaven? Who are you, and where are you going? Remember this: What do people know you to be? ASSIGNMENTS: 1. Ask yourself the question: “What do people know me to be? 2.
