SHUSH fam, Less than a week left till HEATWAVE kicks off – our special summer gathering, put together by SHUSH and Sonar Kollektiv 🪩 Get ready for a 15 hour celebration of dance music across three floors at OXI Berlin. Kicking things off early in the garden, we’re hosting a get together, featuring a BBQ plus a handful of performances to soundtrack the sunshine. Then we’ll move things indoors where we’ll be going till late on two separate floors, presenting local and international talent. Among our guests, we have legendary UK-based producer, remixer and DJ Atjazz – someone who’s been continuously shaping the electronic music landscape for the past 25 years. We’re also joined by two selectors with exceptionally broad tastes – Lucas Benjamin and For Future’s Sake – bringing with them the sounds and sensibilities of the Amsterdam and New York scenes. The line-up is completed by a cast of local heroes: mokeyanju, Calamidades Lola, Hulk Hodn, Philippa, Hollis P Monroe, Ken Okuda, as well D’Monk performing live. As promised – we've another SHUSH summer gathering coming up! On August 9th we’re back at 60Hz in Berlin, this time with one of our favourite DJs, selectors and tastemakers coming out of the buzzing New York City scene – Marco Weibel. Marco has been holding it down as co-leader of label Darker Than Wax, keeping a weekly (!) residency at The Lot Radio for the past eight years. Yes, he’s clocked in close to 500 shows now – and each one of them is filled with the best of what has been freshly released, alongside his recent digs of classics and obscurities alike. For real, we can’t recommend his show enough. Apart from radio, he’s busy playing the NY club circuit, bringing his flavour to places like Nowadays, Public Records or Good Room – as well as overseas, at spots like Razzmatazz in Barcelona or Potato Head in Bali. Expect him to jump from styles such as Obscure Disco to 90s House, Detroit Techno to Jungle, and everything in between. Alongside Marco, SHUSH resident Ken Okuda will be behind the decks – holding it down in a soulful way, as usual. After our exhilarating dance there with Maxwell Owin in June we’re back at 60Hz – right in the heart of Kreuzberg. This place ticks the boxes for us: Wooden dance floor, well tuned system and lovely crew & vibe – so we can’t wait to get back there.
