✨ Open Training: Following Spaces
with Saskia Vaidis and Margot Tournebize
Thu. 14th December 7pm @protagon Kulturgelände
In this open training we will explore the interactions between a solo and the group, how the two interact and influence each other. We'll be trying to find a balance between taking our own place in the group and still staying connected to it. By listening to what's going on, we know how and when it’s time to take the space and when it’s the moment for leaving it.
Through multiple exercises, we will explore some possibilities about how you stick with yourself and/or the group in order to create a whole story together. Let’s improvise and have fun !
~ For the need of one of the exercises we ask you to come with 1 music you really want to dance with (between 2 and 4 min) ~
Saskia Vaidis and Margot Tournebize are dancers and theatre makers from Toulouse (France) and are currently working on a pluridisciplinary improvisation laboratory. They will give an insight of their work in two open trainings in December.

🤸🏽Open Training: Find your Latin body with Michael Schmidt
Mon. 11th & 18th December 7pm @protagon Kulturgelände
From theatrical theory we will seek to explore the different qualities of body movement individually and collectively and then advance in the composition in space and its different ways of approaching it to understand how to begin to create choreography with the body. All of this is framed in Latin rhythms and how they react in the body, eliminating the stereotypes of Latin American dances. Michael is an actor trained in Chile and now a member of antagon theaterAKTion which seeks to explore in Europe how to change the vision of how to work with the body and rhythms in people, all in a playful, conscious and confident way. Everyone is invited to participate in this training, you just need to want to learn and laugh in the process.

✨ Open Training: Following Spaces
with Saskia Vaidis and Margot Tournebize
Thu. 7th December 7pm @protagon Kulturgelände
In this open training we will explore the link with space and, on the other side, the link with the group. How to become aware of others and create together. Finding your individuality within the group while maintaining your connection with others.
Through multiple exercises, we will explore lots of possibilities about how to interact with yourself, your partner and the group in order to create shapes in the space. We will try to build a link between all these concepts to make something happen in improvisation.
Let's experience what we can do together!

🫧 Open Training: con-TAKT - 27th November 7pm
Bitte bequeme Kleidung mitbringen. Auf Spendenbasis.

Physical theatre training with Benedikt Müller
This movement training focusses on encounters with others. We expand our spectrum of movement through partner exercises, elements from contact dance and set a collective learning process in motion. We then want to find it in various coordination and perception exercises: Contact with others, the group, our common rhythm. Building on this, we will develop a movement sequence at the end.
All levels welcome. Please bring comfortable clothes. Donation based

The Fluid Body: fusion dance-theater
When a moving body is dancing and when is acting? During these sessions we will explore the possibilities of dance and choreographic movement for acting in connection with traditional dance from middle est and the so-called belly dance. Using dance elements from different cultural heritages and traditions (with a focus on North Africa and Mid.East) and principles of physical theater and dance-theater, we will develop short choreographic and personalized movement sequences. The class will include as well a short focus on cultural heritage of world dance in the context of decolonization and the contemporary artistic debate to rethink the fluidity and femininity of the body movement.
The work starts with a warm-up using combined techniques from yoga and dance, and continues with body work based on self-perception principles to explore reaction to specific movements, fluidity, separation and disconnection of body-parts, floor work, and it progresses with exercise of fusion dance, improvisation and belly dance. We will deconstruct traditional dance sequence putting them in dialogue with dance-theater and movement practicing on sequence composition and stage presence.
The class is for everyone, no previous experience is required. Please bring comfortable clothes for body work and a scarf. Donation based.
