Periodontitis staging
Stag I
Is the borderland between gingivitis and periodontitis
CAL loss = 1-2 mm
Bone loss = ⬇️15%
In the coronal third
Stag II
represents established periodontitis ,
CAL loss = 3-4 mm
Bone loss = ⬆️ 15% and ⬇️33%
The loss in the coronal third
Stag III
CAL loss = > 5mm
Bone loss = ⬆️ 33% and ⬇️ 66%
And it extend to the middle third of the roots
Stag IV
Presence of deep periodontal lesion that extend to the apical portion of the root
CAL loss = > 5 mm
Bone loss = ⬆️ 66%

شنو هو CAL , PPD
PPD :- The distance between the gingival margin and base of the sulcus/pocket.
المسافة من وين gingival margin لحد قاع البوكيت الي هو base of sulcus
CAL :- The distance between the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ) and base of the sulcus/pocket
المسافة من CEJ لحد قاع البوكيت الي هو base of sulcus
1. بشكل الطبيعي
Marginal gingiva
تكون ع نفس المستوى ويا CEJ
يعني بهاي الحالة
PPD = CAL
2. في حال تراجع اللثة
Recession
راح ينزل gingival margin جوا CEJ
ف
CAL = PDD + 👇🏼
( مقدار البعد من CEJ ل marginal gingival )
3. في حالة اللثة تصعد
ف
راح يصعد marginal gingiva فوق CEJ
ف
CAL = PDL - 👇🏼
(مقدار البعد من marginal gingiva ل CEJ )
