Dear Everyone, This is to inform you all that I won't be able to guide any aspirants due to some unavoidable reasons. I had already shared some of the channels of the capable people above. Even for the history optional, you may join Ishan's channel. Hence, I won't be posting here anymore. I'm sorry for this and I wish all of you all the very best!! Regards, Lakshay

Saw two different ways to respond to the GS paper and thought this is exactly what makes the difference in the outcomes. Feel relaxed and calm when giving CSAT. Don't rush. Take the burden of GS off right now. And stay awake this lazy afternoon!

To those who are appearing tomorrow, All the very BEST, you hard-working people! Just think positive and be confident (even if you're not prepared). Repeating again, this is an exam of MENTALITY not knowledge. Best Wishes.

To those who have cleared, who did not and those who didn't get their 'desired' service, this too shall pass. Only your honesty and humility shall remain. Cherish that.

Dear Everyone, Today is the last day of the CSPT and this is to all those who have appeared in it. Firstly, congratulations to all of you who have managed to face a UPSC board. I know the feeling. It's unmatchable. You have earned it through your consistent hardwork and perseverance. We expect the results to be out by Monday or Tuesday and I know it's a period full of anxiety. Well it's natural too and I hope you enjoy these few days of anxiety. Just remember that regardless of the result, you are a brilliant mind who has passed through a vvvv tough exam to reach till here. Some of you might succeed and some might not, but whichever side you end up in, you will be treated with respect by your colleagues for reaching till here. I want to address each set separately since there was no one to talk to me when I was on your side. Those of you who would clear this exam : The world will never remain the same for you. Everything will change. Trust me. It's a request that you don't change. You will be contacted by people and organisations who didn't even care about you before. Take it calmly and don't get lured away with monetary benefits. Once you clear this exam, you're already in the service and your financial integrity will be tested right from this moment onwards. A long career awaits you where your history can be used against/for you, so be humble and honest. If any one the qualifying candidate needs any assistance/guidance/anything under the sun, feel free to contact me at : lakshayanand165@gmail.com You'll be puzzled with certain things from documentation to your LBSNAA preparation. Feel free to reach out in confusion. Those who would not be able to make it to the FR : I totally don't know how bad the feeling of not being in the list on the last level is. But I know that this exam is not an end to anything. I know people who have reached the interview stage and failed many times and still managed to clear this exam the very next attempt so don't lose hope. You are all very very very talented and hardworking that's why you are here. Believe in your dreams and keep doing the hard work. It might come a bit late but it will always come. And again, in any type of assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me on the above e-mail. All the very best to all of you. Regards, Lakshay

Sharing this again for Prelims Appearing Candidates : Dear Everyone, Since prelims is round the corner and many of you were asking me to share some last minute tips, here are some things I'd like to emphasize upon. 1. This is not a game of knowledge. Trust me, not even the topper knows 60% of the answers in the GS. It's about the mentality you approach the question with. Use your basic knowledge to make a calculated guess, it worked for me multiple times. So, if you're stuck or think you don't know the answer, it's okay to go with your instict (only in GS). 2. Like I said earlier, BE POSITIVE. You will do what you think. If you have thought you CAN clear it, you WILL. Even if you're unprepared/under prepared, think of silver linings like : a.) More than 1000 seats this year so many of aspirants will clear prelims! b.) There are high chances that those who couldn't make it into the final list, may be unprepared (I was too) due to delaying in results announcement, c.) The cut-off is going down every year, d.) Think why you started preparing for this exam and strive for it. Try to think of positives. That will make you stand out in the crowd. 3.) Keep your body and mind active between 9AM-4PM everyday now and eat Healthy only. Stop sleeping in the afternoon if you do. I was so sleepy during my CSAT that I ended up making few mistakes just because I slept in afternoon a day before. I was lucky that I still managed to clear it. 4.) CSAT specific : Do NOT take Paper 2 lightly, even if you are an engineer with IIT background, give a couple of CSAT tests, if you haven't yet. Note down formulas on a paper to revise in the break. I know many people (including myself in last attempt) who were overconfident in CSAT and ended up failing in it despite clearing the GS. a.) Try to attempt the Maths portion first, it will be shorter and give you clear cut answer. Don't pick the option if you don't get the exact answer in maths questions. You will end up having negatives. b.) Then go for the reasoning as it will be easy and anyone can do it with little practice. c.) I used to read the comprehension at the end. It worked for me as they are lengthy and extremely subjective so more chances of you making an error in it. d.) Most importantly, remember you are not supposed to top the CSAT. You just need a decent score. Don't take blind guesses or attempt way too many questions when you're unsure. Attempt 50 but with full confidence. 5.) GS Specific : There is zero pattern of GS, UPSC can ask absolutely anything. Don't go after doing only one or two subjects, do every subject. Even if not complete, read the basics of it. I understand nobody likes every subject. If it helps, I myself am is not good in economics but still you have to study it. In next 3 days, try to divide your each day into two parts and complete one core subject is half of a day. Read your notes only. No new source at this time please. a.) If you think you're not prepared or have left some topics, assume that it won't be asked in the actual paper. The point is that don't run after the things you haven't done yet. Be confident in what you know. b.) A very basic trick though most of you may already know it : in polity questions, if any statement contains the word "only" or "all", it's most probably incorrect. It worked for me every time. c.) Lastly, GS is not just knowledge based rather it's guess based, luck based and mentality based. Every question will give you its own answer if only you know how to dig it. Read the question twice properly. If nothing, think can this even be right/wrong and you'll get something to linger on and make a good guess (basic knowledge of the subject must also be used here). Having said this, I wish all of you all the very bestum best! Trust yourself. Be confident and calm, 28th May is yours!

Dear Everyone, Finally the CFLs of my batch were allocated today. Allocation of CFL is a huge thing for an IFS. CFL determines the first posting of an IFS officer. It's like a dream coming true that my first preference was French and I was allocated the same! I will be going to Europe soon for my first posting. Gratitude. Overwhelmed. Lakshay

Dear Everyone, It gives me immense pleasure and of course an opportunity to boast about getting my Diplomatic Passport today. I'm Officially Marooned now. From where I come, it is a big thing to even dream of an airplane flight. Exactly one year ago, I didn't even have money to take an auto rickshaw and today, I have the strongest passport of the country. Just to remind you all again, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. I'm very grateful to you all and all those who have believed in me earlier. Regards, Lakshay Anand Proudly Indian Foreign Service

Since some of you were interested in knowing the CFL vacancies of my batch. Sharing the official order here. Pls note that the number of vacancies changes every year and is decided by the Foreign Service Board headed by the Hon'ble Foreign Secretary. Hence, it's not necessary that this will be the same every year let alone the next year. Also note that this year, most number of the languages are offered. Generally, only 6-7 languages are offered. Also note that the allocation has not yet taken place for my batch. Pls don't ask questions on that. Once the allocation order comes, I'll share it here myself. Dear Everyone, One of the myths about IFS is that IFS doesn't work within the country. Let me present you with a concept called 'State Attachment'. Each IFS Officer is attached to their mother state. In case, someone comes from a Union Territory like I am from Delhi, they can choose any state. The IFS gets exposure at the highest level of bureaucracy in that state. The work is to look after the foreign relations of that particular state along with taking care of the state's diaspora and trade. I have chosen Bihar out of curiosity. This is my first time I am in Bihar and I'm amused to see how different Bihar is from what it is depicted. The people are welcoming and warm. Today, I had the privilege to meet the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Sh. Nitish Kumar and His Excellency Governor of Bihar and discussed Bihar's future path. This is to present another lesser known fact about the IFS. Hope this inspires some of you! Regards, Lakshay Anand Indian Foreign Service

Dear Everyone, Since there is lack of information on the Indian Foreign Service as a profession, I'm planning to make a video covering all the aspects of the IFS including training, postings, salary, hierarchy, etc. It's unfortunate that even many of those who clear UPSC don't know much about the IFS. I hope to clear that out. Do let me know in the comments if you wish me to discuss anything particular. Regards, Lakshay Anand Indian Foreign Service

It's a pleasure to be a part of the Indian Delegation headed by the Foreign Minister in a closed door bilateral meeting with the Korean delegation headed by their Foreign Minister. It was my first bilateral that too, at such a young age. I got to learn a lot from it and I hope this will inspire many of you to be interested more towards the Indian Foreign Service. Representing India directly at a global stage and being a part of decision-making right at the very top is something which only the IFS offers! We will be back with the G-20 Head of States summit in September where the Prime Ministers and Presidents of 40 most developed countries would come to India, the biggest thing India has ever hosted since independence. Indian diplomacy is only going to achieve greater heights in the future. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳

Dear Everyone, It's a matter of pride that India hosted the G-20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Raisina Dialogue, signed numerous agreements and I was a part of it. I was appointed as the Liaison Officer for G20 and learnt a LOT in the past 2-3 weeks. Sleepless nights and efforts were made from our Indian Diplomats for the G-20. I'm sharing this only to make aware many of you of what diplomats do! Amidst all the bureaucracy, the common Indian knows very little of IFS. Just to reaffirm and what I learnt interacting personally with the Foreign Ministers' of many development nations, India is a respected country across the world and IFS is an amazing service to represent the whole country! Not just one district or one state , I represented the whole of India in the past two weeks! 🇮🇳
