Today I came across an old recording of Broken, it was fun to listen to it.

We spend a long time working on our songs, and this is both our feature and, perhaps, our problem. We don’t have periods where we stop working, no creative crises, and no lack of material. But there is one "but"—our perfectionism, which sometimes prevents us from moving forward. Many of our songs have been rewritten several times, and some are still waiting for their moment. One such song was Broken. To reach its final sound, we had to set it aside for a while and switch our focus to other projects. Only after returning to it much later were we able to understand how it should sound. The lyrical guitar ballad found new life, wrapped in the atmosphere of synthwave.

For us, every song is a separate stage, a distinct chapter of our lives and creative journey. We don’t aim to stick to a single sound or repeat something similar to what we’ve already done. Sometimes we hear that we’re still searching for our sound and style, but I’m not sure that’s true. It feels like we rediscover it every time we create a new song. After all, each one resonates with our thoughts, experiences, and the moments we’re living through here and now.

Today, the drive to create something new seems like an inseparable part of artistic expression. But that wasn’t always the case. In the 1960s, the music scene in London — and indeed the entire world — operated on a completely different principle. Every artist who released a successful song seemed to strive to replicate it over and over again. Creative exploration often ended there. Society, audiences, and record labels no longer expected anything new from them — only repetitions of what they had already come to love in the artist’s work. And then everything changed. The symbol of this transformation was The Beatles.

I could never take bands seriously whose name matches the title of their first song. It always seemed silly to me, even a bit ridiculous. And yet, ironically, we found ourselves in the same situation—our first song ended up defining our name. To be fair, we eventually changed the song’s title, and what was once the working title "FORMLESS" became "THINGS". What is this song about? It’s about everything. Love, contradictions, the meaning of life. And, of course, about two not-so-young guys who met each other and decided to create something great. That’s how FORMLESS was born.

Hi, I’am Alex Sad. Today, I decided to start running this channel. I’m not sure how it will turn out, but I definitely don’t want it to simply duplicate our main social media. Here, I’ll try to be more open and share more about us: how the band FORMLESS came to be, how our songs were created, what we listen to, what we read, and what inspires us. We also have an incredible amount of material that, for one reason or another, we decided not to use. I think this will be the perfect place to share it.

The band FORMLESS was formed in 2022 and works in the post-grunge genre, blending the groove and energy of classic rock with the synthetic sound of modern instruments. At the moment, the band has released only four singles. However, each of them has its own unique sound and conveys distinctive ideas, showcasing the band's creative versatility and ability to experiment with different musical styles.
