š§® Sweet CSAT Trick ā 6
š Any digit which is repeated P-1 times will be fully divisible by P, leaving no remainder, where P is a Prime Number greater than 5.
- This is not a trick per se but a function of Prime Number.
Eg. Let's say we have to check that what will be the remainder if 555555 is divided by 7. So 7 is a Prime Number and 5 is repeated P-1 times i.e. 6 times hence it will be fully divisible and there will be no remainder.
š¢ Try with any Prime Number greater than 5, it will work.
š§ I used the same function to solve this question in less than 10 seconds (A number N is formed by writing 9 for 99 times. What is the remainder if N is divided by 13 ?) asked in UPSC CSAT 2023. You can watch the YouTube video by clicking here
