Brevity
Good writing wastes no words. Every sentence should earn its place. Every word should do work.
This doesn't mean writing short. Many people understand this wrong and they try to write only short sentences, attempting to imitate Hemingway. But Hemingway wrote simply (not shortly), and his novels run hundreds of pages. Brevity means density, maximum meaning per word, not minimum words overall.
When you write "very happy," you've used two words to create less impact than one: "ecstatic," "giddy," "jubilant." When you write "in spite of the fact that," you've used six words to say "although."
Try to explain your ideas densely. And in fact, some of the best lines ever told are the densist ones.
- "I've become Death, the destroyer of worlds" (Oppenheimer quoting Bhagavad Gita)
- "I have a dream" (King)
- "I came, I saw, I conquered" (Caesar)
- "Do not go gentle into that good night" (Thomas)
- "E=mc²" (Einsteinn)

probably sooner than most people think, but the goalposts keep moving. we r already seeing sparks of it. i'd guess something somehow AGI-like by the end of the decade or early 2030s, but agi is a fuzzy term. it'll arrive gradually, then suddenly, similar to what happened with language models
regarding planetary colonization, it's an engineering problem, not a physics problem. spacex is actually doing it. mars colony within our lifetime could be plausible. but i'd focus more on not screwing up the earth.
philosophy<science?

they are not really far apart from each other. philosophy is basically deeper thinking. it is not some exotic subject, as much as it looks otherwise.
the same goes with science, but that deeper thinking is applied to a different domian.
and some "philosophers" can even make it to very big tech/science companies at times
Since you mentioning Andrej Karpathy, are you becoming more technical if yes, what are you learning specifically?

i don't do "technical" or "none-technical." i just learn things for fun if they are interesting. and i go specific and deeper with them, because unless you don't, you can't learn anything.
so, no. i am not going technical. i still like to read philosophy works.
