Congressional Gun Control Dirtbaggery https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/1808/text Look at this bill (H.R.1808 - Assault Weapons Ban of 2022). Then tell us that any member of Congress is actually familiar with more than a small fraction (if any) of the firearms listed here. Whether any listed firearm is to be banned or (temporarily) exempted, the typical member of congress doesn't know rat crap from rice krispies about it, and that's a fact. All these political @#%$-weasels know is that they're expected to sign by whatever nameless behind-the-curtain slimebag(s) wrote the bill, and they want to get away to lunch, dinner, the Congressional Bar & Lounge, or the gay prostitute in some nearby hotel room without bothering to read it or talk about it. In a just and moral world, any official trying trying to confiscate any conventional firearm* from any law-abiding US citizen would be staring down its muzzle and awaiting an unpleasant but long-overdue message. That's Constitutional law, and when it comes to basic rights and freedoms, that's the only law that counts. Remember, if a cop or soldier can walk around with it, every citizen should be able to carry it around as well. Under the US Constitution, citizens are merely on temporary leave from the Well-Regulated Militias in which they will be expected to serve against any enemies, foreign or domestic, criminally attempting to enforce nonsense like this. In addition to a little hunting and sport shooting now and then, protection from criminals is what guns are for. [* We're talking about "small arms", and by "conventional", we mean regularly / conventionally possessed and carried around by criminals, cops, and soldiers (who, where the Constitution is being violated, differ only by wearing or not wearing a uniform). As for artillery and nukes, should any government announce that it has the right to use artillery and nukes against its own citizens, citizens would be entitled to own their own artillery and weapons of mass destruction for self-defense. (Sad, but true - there is no morality without reciprocity.)]
