This is our first public crypto project. We have dabbled in solidity and IPFS previous to this project, and are now about a year into it. The team consists of some hard core data hoarders so we're very familiar with the peer-to-peer file sharing stuff, but a bit green on the crypto side. For incentive curves, we have recruited a game theory analyst so we can iron out how people will be rewarded for participating in the network and will be cooperating with the to run simulations on projected growth once we've collected some initial data

We are using this launch as a gauge on what the market will value DecentFS at. $pDFS will trade on the open market for a while and as we approach the public testnet launch, the Phase 2 and 3 prices will be determined by the price average on $pDFS. It is hard to valuate as the peer-to-peer networks we're built on top of are generally open source and don't receive funding in general. Launching this way allows our valuation to be determined by the market and what they can see of our work, not by the terms sheet of some VC investors.
