Types of stablecoins
Today, weāll tell you about the three main categories of stablecoins.
āŖļø Stablecoins backed by fiat currencies
These coins are backed by real-life assets, fiat money, or paper money. Two examples of this stablecoin are Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC). The companies issuing these coins own large reserves to support every issued coin; however, Tether has come under intense scrutiny in the past for this specific issue.š
āŖļø Stablecoins backed by cryptocurrencies
Some projects are so bold that theyāre willing to back their stablecoin with other cryptocurrencies (not real assets or money). For example, a crypto-backed stablecoin with a value of $1 could be supported by a crypto asset worth $2. The logic here is that if the underlying assetās value were to drop, the stablecoin would still be able to maintain its dollar peg.
The most famous crypto-backed stablecoin is Dai (DAI).
āŖļø Algorithmic stablecoins
Algorithmic stablecoins are not backed by assets or fiat currencies, which makes it difficult to understand why or how theyāre stablecoins in the first place. As their name indicates, the value of these coins is controlled by computer algorithms. If the stablecoinās value is pegged to $1 but rises above $1, the code will automatically mint and release more coins into circulation to lower the stablecoinās value back to $1. Conversely, if the value drops below $1, the algorithm will removeāor burnācoins from circulation to lift the value back up to $1. The amount of coins you hold will change, but theyāll always reflect the value you own.
Please note: Stablecoins are not dollarsātheyāre cryptocurrencies. Even when dealing with stablecoins, investing in crypto carries inherent risksācase in point the collapse of Terraās algorithmic stablecoin TerraUSD.

Repost from WTF - What The FOMO ā
Here are some interesting facts about crypto you might not know
1. Bitcoin is the First Cryptocurrency: Created in 2009 by an anonymous person or group of people using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin was the first decentralized cryptocurrency.
2. Limited Supply: Bitcoin has a maximum supply of 21 million coins, making it a deflationary asset. This cap is expected to be reached around the year 2140.
3. Blockchain Technology: Cryptocurrencies operate on blockchain technology, a decentralized ledger that records all transactions across a network of computers. This technology ensures transparency and security.
4. Volatility: Cryptocurrencies are known for their price volatility. Bitcoin, for instance, has seen dramatic price swings, reaching an all-time high of nearly $69,000 in November 2021 before dropping significantly.
5. Altcoins: Besides Bitcoin, there are thousands of other cryptocurrencies, commonly referred to as altcoins. Notable examples include Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), Litecoin (LTC), and Cardano (ADA).
6. Smart Contracts: Ethereum introduced the concept of smart contracts, which are self-executing contracts with the terms of the agreement directly written into code. This innovation has paved the way for decentralized applications (DApps) and decentralized finance (DeFi).
7. Mining: Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are created through a process called mining, where powerful computers solve complex mathematical problems. This process verifies transactions and adds them to the blockchain.
8. Energy Consumption: Cryptocurrency mining, particularly Bitcoin mining, consumes a significant amount of energy. Some estimates suggest Bitcoinās annual energy consumption is comparable to that of entire countries.
9. Regulation: The regulatory environment for cryptocurrencies varies widely by country. Some nations embrace them, while others have imposed strict regulations or outright bans.
10. Adoption by Major Companies: Increasingly, major companies and financial institutions are adopting cryptocurrencies. For example, Tesla, PayPal, and Square have all incorporated cryptocurrency into their business models in some capacity.

In 1653, Johan de Witt became the Grand Pensionary of the United Provinces (Prime Minister) of the Netherlands. Over 20 years, he defended the country's independence, concluded favorable peace treaties, and improved the state's financial situation.
In 1672, France and England invaded the Netherlands. The people blamed Johan de Witt for their misfortunes. He lost power, and his brother Cornelis was imprisoned and tortured.
On August 20, 1672, Johan de Witt was killed in prison. His body and the body of his brother were mutilated, and parts of their bodies were eaten. This was documented in the painting "The Corpses of the De Witt Brothers" by Jan de Baen.

Crypto speak: Mint
In the crypto world, āmintā is the process of creating a new token on a blockchain.
Oftentimes, minting refers to creating an NFT or an entire collection (āWe minted an NFT collectionā), but itās the same process for issuing cryptocurrencies and other tokens.
We use this word because the process is akin to central banks using machines to print (or mint) money. However, itās understandable if itās difficult to fathom how something can be digitally āminted.ā

Why donāt my funds get deposited?
(Crypto currency)
A widespread problem for beginners: They transfer funds from one wallet to another, but the coins donāt get deposited.
Why?
There are 3 main reasons:
1. The processing speeds of blockchains. Sometimes, blockchains are slow, and transactions take longer than usual. For example, in Ethereum, transactions can sometimes last for hours.
2. Invalid network or address: You could have made a mistake when choosing the network. For example, if you transfer your USDT from the Tron network to the BNB Smart Chain network, the transaction will not pass. Make sure the network and address match.
3. A memo is not specified: Some blockchains require specifying a memo when sending transactions. A memo is a ācommentā on a transaction. If necessary, the exchange will warn you what memo you should specify, so read the instructions carefully.
And one more general tip: If youāre making a transaction for the first time, make a test transfer by sending the minimum amount ā e.g., 1 USDT. If itās successful, itās safe to send whatever amount you want to that address.
Donāt forget that, in the crypto world, itās often impossible to return money lost or sent to a wrong address.
