Inattention among school students has become a significant challenge stemming from both intrinsic and extrinsic reasons. There are, however, a few ways to best enhance concentration levels in schools. Today’s generation is faced with the constant interference of outside distractions in studies more than ever. Such resulting distractibility is largely attributed to the invasive influence of technology, video games, and social media, which shortened students' attention span, especially after the prevalence of its short-form video content. Having been conditioned to expect instant gratification, many students often have difficulty sustaining steady and deep focus on intellectually demanding study materials. Consequently, this not only affects their immediate comprehension, but also leads to decreased motivation and feelings of overwhelm. Furthermore, lifestyle-related issues, like poor sleeping and eating habits, contribute significantly to young learners’ concentration problems. Many students struggle academically due to sleep deprivation and nutrient deficiencies which typically cause brain fog and difficulty maintaining focus. Unless addressed, their long-term academic performance suffers, potentially decreasing their chances of success. Fortunately, certain measures can help boost students' concentration. Given students' lack of maturity in self-management, active involvement from parents and community in creating a distraction-free classroom setting for a more focused and immersive learning environment is necessary. Collaboratively minimizing distractions helps students maintain their optimal alertness and sustained focus, therefore allow for greater overall comprehension and retention. Lastly, on teachers’ part, probably the best way to capture and retain students' attention is to make classes more engaging and interactive using diverse teaching methods. In classes where student participation and discussions are encouraged, the issue of focus becomes irrelevant. In conclusion, while countless distractions, poor nutritional and sleeping practices are leaving students with concentration problems, it is possible to foster a more focused learning environment through collaborative oversight and the use of more varied interactive classes. 300 words. #Essay #Writing

I’d love to talk about a very special person who brought ChatGPT into existence. He is the CEO, AKA chief executive officer and the co-founder of Nvidia, an American Multi-national technology company. His name is Jen-Hsun Huang, a Stanford graduate behind today’s 2 trillion dollar company powering large language models like ChatGPT. What does this mean? It means he is helping not one, not two but billions of people worldwide. But another even more important way he helps people through is education. He goes to many colleges and universities a guest to give advice to many young brilliant minds wanting to do startups. In one of his speeches, which is my favorite, he talks about the need to have low expectations and the value of pain and suffering in building character and resilience. He says one of his greatest advantages is that he has very low expectations unlike many Stanford graduates who naturally have very high expectations because they came from a great school. He suggests that people with very high expectations have very low resilience. And unfortunately, resilience matters in success, building trust, and even marriage which he can’t teach except for he said he hopes suffering happens to them. Because you wanna train, you wanna refine the character. The reason is he wants the greatness out of them. And greatness is not intelligence. Such greatness comes from character, and character doesn’t come from smart people. There is this saying that goes “Fast success builds ego, whereas slow success builds character”. Not my words, although it’s the skills that get us to the top, it’s only the character that keeps us there, which obviously, cannot be more more true.

Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA

In this View From The Top interview, Shantam Jain, MBA ’24, speaks with Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA. As of March 1, 2024, NVIDIA is the third most valuable company on Wall Street, with over $2T in market value. Jensen shares his experience founding NVIDIA, getting funded, building the first killer application for NVIDIA’s technology, deciding which markets are worth exploring, finding the conviction in making non-consensus bets, steering the company through challenging times, designing the right organization structure, and finally, his views on the AI revolution. Excerpts from the interview: - On reputation: “You can have a good or bad interview, but you can't run away from your past, so have a good past; I was probably Denny's [first job] best dishwasher” - On early days: “In order for NVIDIA to succeed we needed another startup to succeed—EA… and EA’s CTO was 14 and had to be driven to work by his mom… that’s who we were relying on” - On markets: “If someone else can do it, let them do it; focus on--if I don't do it, it won't get done” - On core beliefs: “My reaction during that time [when NVIDIA lost 80% of market value in the financial crisis], is the same reaction I had about this week [when NVIDIA crossed $2T and became the 3rd most valuable company on Wall Street]” - On unique organizational design: “You have to go back to first principles ... as a CEO I have to architect the company and create an organization that allows my employees to do their life’s work”
