Arteries supplying intraperitoneal structures lie intraperitoneally
While arteries supplying retroperitoneal structures lies retroperitoneally ( behind the peritoneum) .

What is the pelvic pain line.?
Intraperitoneal structures are said to reside above the “pelvic pain line,” and afferent pain fibers from these structures travel along sympathetic nerves. Subperitoneal structures are said to lie below the “pelvic pain line,” and afferent pain fibers from this region travel along parasympathetic nerves (S2–S4).

This is a laparoscopic view of a direct inguinal hernia , we notice that :
- deep inguinal ring lies lateral to inferior epigastric vessels .
- The direct inguinal hernia occurs medial to the inferior epigastric vessels .
- The hernia consists of only peritoneum and transversalis fascia
And does both reach the scrotum .

Inguinal hernial. : is bulging of organ through the abdominal wall
There are two type:
1-direct inguinal hernia
2-indirect inguinal hernia
We differentiate between these two types by the (Inferior epigastric a.).
1- direct hernia : occur medial to the inferior epigastric artery and it bulge through the abdominal wall
2-indirect hernia: it will occur lateral to the inferior epigastric artery and it will follow the pathway of spermatic cord from the deep inguinal ring to the superficial inguinal ring and appear in scrotum
