*THE RECENT WAY TO DO EXAMINATION CLEARANCE IN 2026* Once you finish your course and exam registration, there is one more step you MUST complete. You must go to your study centre for physical clearance before your exam slip will open. What does this mean? Even if you have: * *Printed your e-wallet slip* * *Printed your course registration slip* You CANNOT print your exam slip until you are physically cleared at your study centre. Clearance will be done by three offices: * *Bursary* * *Registry* * *Study Centre Director* Once all three clear you: * Your exam slip will open automatically * Your registered courses will appear on the e-learning portal This new rule is to stop problems like missing courses on the portal. *VERY IMPORTANT* * Do not wait until exam period. * Go for clearance immediately after registration (at least one month before exams). If you add, drop, or change any course after clearance, your clearance is cancelled and you must repeat the process. *Remember: No exam slip, no entry into the exam hall.* This is not like previous semesters. *NOUN Activates Health Insurance Scheme for Students Nationwide* Date: August 20, 2026 The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has commenced the implementation of the Tertiary Institutions Social Health Insurance Programme (TISHIP) for its students across the country. The development was announced during an emergency meeting of the NOUN Management Committee on TISHIP, held on Tuesday at the university’s headquarters in Abuja. During the meeting, four Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs) were unveiled for the programme. The four HMOs are Healthspring, Noor, Novo and Precious. Their addition brings the total number of HMOs appointed under the scheme to eight, with the organisations assigned to cover the respective geopolitical zones. The scheme took effect from the 2026_1 semester. The Chairman of the TISHIP Committee and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Shehu Usman Adamu, stated that the welfare of NOUN students remains a priority of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma. How the TISHIP Programme Will Work According to Prof. Adamu, each student will be enrolled through their respective study centre and issued a health insurance card. The card will facilitate students’ access to healthcare services under the scheme. Students enrolled in the programme will have access to designated healthcare facilities in the states where they reside. To make the enrolment process easier, the university’s Directorate of Management Information System (MIS) has been directed to provide the list of students in each senatorial district across the country. Students’ names, registration numbers, email addresses and telephone numbers will be collected and forwarded to the designated healthcare providers in their respective senatorial districts for enrolment. Healthcare Services The university explained that students enrolled under the programme will have access to a range of medical services. The initiative is intended to provide NOUN students with affordable and accessible healthcare while they pursue their academic programmes. The university management has also received the list of selected hospitals that will provide healthcare services under the scheme. The list of hospitals will form the basis for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NOUN and the participating healthcare facilities. The agreement will clearly define the roles and responsibilities of the university and the healthcare providers. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor also called on the HMOs to ensure efficient delivery of healthcare services in line with the university’s commitment to improving student welfare. What This Means for NOUN Students The TISHIP programme is designed to provide health insurance coverage for NOUN students, improve their access to healthcare and promote their general wellbeing while studying at the university.
