The U.S. Navy is facing a serious logistics problem in the Middle East. Around 20 ships carrying roughly 20,000 sailors and Marines need more than 420,000 meals and about eight million gallons of fuel every week. The situation became much harder after Iran destroyed a key Navy logistics base in Bahrain and made other nearby ports too dangerous to use. Supply ships now have to travel about 2,200 miles to Diego Garcia, or even farther to Singapore, before returning to the fleet. Source: NYT

🇾🇪❌🇾🇪 — The Houthis (Ansarallah) launched up to 8 ballistic missiles at Saudi-backed PLC positions in the Mokha countryside and the southern part of Al Khawkhah, western coastal Yemen.

Kuwait is currently under an Iranian missile and drone attack.

🇷🇺🇲🇱⚡️- Russia has seemingly increased its military support to the Malian junta in August. At least three back-and-forth flights between Moscow and Bamako have been registered on public flight trackers. The plane used for those trips, an Ilyushin Il-76TD, belongs to the Ministry for Emergency Situations and very likely doesn't only contain humanitarian supplies. Earlier this year in February, Russia sent undeclared military supplies alongside humanitarian cargo to Madagascar. The current third return flight, SUM76362, has re-entered Russian airspace a few hours ago.

According to the text of the new U.S.–Saudi nuclear agreement, Saudi Arabia will have a pathway to enrich uranium up to 20% on its own territory. Without strict controls, enriching up to 20% could give Saudi Arabia the ability to divert nuclear material to military purposes. The agreement is currently under congressional review

North Korea rejected US demands for denuclearization and stated that it will continue to strengthen its nuclear arsenal. A North Korean foreign ministry official called US criticism of the country's human rights situation, calls for complete denuclearization, and planned military drills with South Korea and Japan evidence of Washington's "hostile approach." Pyongyang called its nuclear weapons an "absolute guarantee" of sovereignty and stated that repeated US demands will not change North Korea's nuclear status. North Korea also said that expecting a reduction in regional tensions is "pointless" as long as Washington adheres to its current policy, stressing that US policy toward North Korea has also not changed.
