🌕 OBJECTIVITY ¶ It means taking decisions based upon established facts and figures rather than personal opinion or bias. ¶ In administration it generally implies working as rules and regulations. It creates scientific and rational thinking. ¶ It is one of the foundational values of civil services. An outcome can be judged as ethical or unethical based on ethical analysis as per some ethical standards. - EXAMPLES:Gandhiji’s principle of means over end is supported by objectivity, which focuses on rules and hence means.  ¶ A police officer entrusted with mob management, may have to use force hurting certain individuals. Based on virtue ethics it may be perceived wrong. However his actions are in larger interest of peace and order in society. Hence just objectively focusing on one’s duty, ethical outcome can be achieved.    Join 👉🏻 @UPSC_Ethics_Example

How to draw a line between confidence and over confidence? Examples: 1. Over- I am a bond of National parks whatever they will ask I am ready for it. The moment you see the question, you mark it. Confidence - I have prepared NP very well but still I will read the question carefully just in case, I will miss something in the options. 2. Over - paper looks very easy I will get 160 marks. Confidence - paper looks easy , let me read questions carefully because it's a slippery slope of marking wrong in haste.

4 things I would like to tell you before the Prelims: 1. Trust your preparation: There is no point in doubting it. Never ever doubt your hard work. You have prepared so long it's time to trust this. Trust everything which you have done. Your instincts, tricks everything. 2. Be ready for surprises- don't go with a rigid mindset. If there are surprises then laugh a bit and handle the situation. 3. Get a sense of the paper length in the first 30 minutes. UPSC generally has increased the length of the paper so despite knowing everything, sometimes it becomes very difficult to go through the entire paper thrice. 4. There is a thin line between confidence and over confidence. Don't become over confident in the remaining days. And never be under confident. Have the optimum confidence to succeed.

Don't worry you will manage the paper. Don't look for videos on what more can be asked. And if possible then stop watching new videos. Mentally Prepare yourself to handle what you have prepared so far. Paper will be asked from what largely you have prepared not what you have narrowly missed.
