🍄 APPROACH FOR TACKLING CASE STUDY Case Study — 20-25 marker, 14-15 min [85-90 min], 250-300 words. 1.Intro — a) Crux & Context in para; b) Facts of case. 2. Stakeholder [including implicit] — a) Diagram; b) In points with their interest. 3. Ethical Issue/ED [2-3] — a) weighing diagram (show which value is more inclined), circle while reading; b) conflict of value form (If ED, then versus & if EI, write issues like issue of women empowerment). 4. Options [Merit & Demerit wrt stakeholder] — a) point form; b) para form to explain merit & demerit — i. Outright negative option, neutral, Outright positive option, Best possible action — 3 points each. 3 options are must. ii. If you are supporting a point then write more merit points to it & less demerit points. iii. While writing merit-demerit, focus on consequences & values. 5. Course of Action [P-L-A-C-E + Stakeholder] — Theoretical justification of Course of Action [passing ref] → Dig - Rhombus [Yes- No]. i. Choose a plan - not only include what is right but also minimise all wrongs. ii. Explain why you chose over other — Is it based on principles of neutrality, objectivity and impartiality or based on bias? iii. One innovative point that will create a difference & no one will write. iv. Short term & Long term approach (GS knowledge). 6. Conclusion — long term sol with any BP. i. Solution covers above ED & gave holistic approach to resolve them. ii. Reflection of values - values upholder in course of action. Join 👉🏻 @UPSC_Ethics_Example

🌕 Simplicity - Quality/condition of being easy to understand or do having clarity in thoughts & action- no complications being down-to-earth, humble. Example: 1] Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam came to Rashtrpati Bhawan with one suitcase as his belongingness and left the Rashtrapati Bhawan with minimal belongingness after completing his term as President shows his simplicity.
