. F-Droid is the free and open source (FOSS) app store that only has open source apps, without any of Google's spyware or anti-free speech code embedded. You can use a web browser to download the F-droid.apk file from https://f-droid.org and sideload it onto any Android phone. You can then use F-droid app store to install open source apps to replace the spyware apps that came with your Android phone, such as a keyboard that doesn't log or spy what you type, an email client, camera app photo gallery, etc.. Since the F-Droid apk file is not coming through Google Paly, you should verify the file signature to ensure that it was not modified by anyone when you downloaded it. We know of no GUI method to verify the PGP signature, so you must use the Termux app to verify the signature. 1. Download the Signal APK from here to your Linux computer by clicking th e"Download" button and saving it to a directory, such as the "Download" directory in your "home" directory.: https://signal.org/android/apk/ 2. 3. Open a terminal and go to the direcgory that you downloaded the Signal APK into and type this into a terminal:

4. You can then verify the SHA256 fingerprint on the website matches the SHA256 finger print from the output Notes : * -min-sdk-version 25 means verify the signatures work on Android versions 7.1 and higher. . Signal is a great open-source messenger app that is available across all platforms. Linux, Android, MS, Apple, Linux phones, and iPhones. Signal end-to-end encryption is the current standard that many chat apps follow and use, such as WhatsApp. Unfortunately, Signal won't use F-Droid because they say the F-Droid app store is vulnerable to exploits. So if you want to install Signal on Android w/out using the Google Play Store, they offer an APK, and a signature key, but they don't make the APK easy to find. Krita has both Vector layers and Raster layers, allowing you to combine the two into one program.
