Start DeGoogling your Android phone right now!
1. Get a Nextcloud service provider. eCloud replaces all Google apps w/open source apps, (contacts, email, calendar, etc.)
eCloud is a good service provider to learn on. They give you 1G of data for free.
2. Install apps from the F-Droid app store. Use these apps to replace Google.

Foliate is a great eBook reader for Linux and as well as for Linux phones, such as the PinePhone.
It is a great replacement for those looking to drop Big Tech and move away from Kindle.
You can get it via Flatpak, grab one of their packages for your distro, or you can download the code and compile following the instructions on their website:

We just got this router in, and popped a T-Mobile "tablet" SIM card into it, and with a little hack we now get unlimited data for only $20/month.
It is an upgrade from our last GL-iNet router that got super hot during it's last charge cycle and stuck up the entire house.
To get the unlimited data, you must put this line of code in the "Custom Commands" area off the router's setup:

We just got one of these routers in, popped in a T-Mobile "Tablet" SIM, and for $20/month we get unlimited data.
This is an upgrade from our previous GL-iNet router that got super hot during it's last charge and stunk up the whole house.
To get the unlimited data, you need to put a line of code into the "Custom Command" area of the firewall.
Here's that line of code:
The code makes T-Mobile think all the "hotspot" data is going directly into the router and not out the "hotspot" connections.

Maui apps, based on Qt and KDE desktop, are responsive apps that adjust and redraw according to the screen they are rendering on. Scroll down through thec article to see some example screenshots.
This is good for Linux phones. All popular programs in Linux need to go this route so they can be used on Linux phones.

Here's an open-source Search Engine that will most likely give different results. It's been around almost as long as Google.
"Founded in 2000, it is an independent engine and web crawler, developed and maintained by Matt Wells, a former Infoseek employee and New Mexico Tech graduate."

Nextcloud doesn't offer a desktop app, but you can get functionality similar to Joplin by using QOwnNotes.
To get notes syncing between the Android "Nextcloud Notes" app and QOwnNotes:
1. Install DAVx5 (Gives apps access to your Nextcloud info)
2. Install Nextrcloud Notes onto your phone.
3. Install QOwnNotes onto your computer following instructions 👉 here.
4. Install "Nextcloud Desktop" onto your Linux computer.
sudo apt install nextcloud-desktop
5. Set up "Nextcloud Desktop" to synchronize a copy of the Notes file folder from your Nextcloud/eCloud server to a local copy on your computer.
6. Set up QOwnNotes to use the local Notes file folder you set up in step 5.
7. With DAVx5 installed, the "Nextcloud Notes" app will let you select your Nextcloud/eCloud account and automatically sync your phone notes to the Notes file folder on your Nextcloud/eCloud server.

Over the next few days we will be posting information on note apps that can be synced to Nexctcloud/eCloud for use on just your Android phone, or that can be synced between your Android and your Linux desktop/laptop.
This is the criteria used to qualify the note apps:
- Can sync to Nextcloud/eCloud
- There is an F-Droid app available
- There is a Linux desktop app available

Today, from the mouth of the co-founder and CEO of Brave Search Brendan Eich (yes he's conservative).
We have been promoting Brave Search here on this channel (in the chat) since right about the time Brave Search went Beta.
Another good thing about Brave Search is they don't feed money back to Big Tech's ad network like other alternative engines. Brave Search will be implementing their own ad system completely independent of Google, Bing (Microsft) and Yahoo.

The Blaze: "WEF releases plan for Digital ID called Advancing Digital Agency: The Power of Data Intermediaries which describes a system that would collect personal data about your online behavior, purchase history, network usage, medical history, travel history, energy uses, health stats, and more. This data would then be used to determine who could open bank accounts, conduct financial transactions, access insurance, health care treatment, book trips, cross borders, and more."
See comments for the actual WEF article in PDF format.
Coming soon to an Android device near you? Hopefully never.
