JAUN MEDU from Ode Omi in Ijebu water-side, an Agemo priest had first been permitted to settle on a section of the same land granted the Owu-Omu people. Jaun Medu after many years left Omu to found IGBILE (formerly Ilako) hence the appellation "Medu Omu Medu Igbile" meaning Medu of Omu and Igbile. Jaun's warrior relation, Okukumadesi (Ramuja) relocated to Odo Ramuja in Ala. Paragraph 25 of the intelligence report by Captain J. A Mackenzie, 1938 affirm as follows; "The Dagburewe asserts that the Omu people were given land by the Irete people on which they settle. They are a mixture of Owus and Egbas. The Imoro quarter of Omu came from Ijebu Ode". The foregoing goes to show that OMU is strictly comprised of Ago, Okemoro and Mobido Quarters. Omu's landmass being the smallest in comparism to its neighboring communities over the years acquired its praise poetry Oriki as "PEKU RA I FU OMU, OMU NE ORERE" meaning one arrives Omu in an instant for Omu has no extended landmass. Jaun Medu's descendants from Igbile control large tract of Omu land to this day. The chief occupation of Erebe people in the olden days was agriculture with speciality in yam and cocoyam farming hence Erebe people's eulogy ''Omo isu nule e si obe, Obe kan soso re wa obubo, Omo atewo rule d'egu ko ma ba pa koko Oloja''. TRAVAILS OF EREBE IN THE HANDS OF LAND GRABBERS The Relocation of Oba Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science and Technology (formerly TASCE) to Odo-Jobore beside Erebe have recently subjected Erebe Community to the whims and Caprice of foreign elements from one or two neighboring communities. Enquiries to relevant government agencies and investigation conducted by security agencies exposed the land grabbers plot to illegally extend their communities territory into EREBE and acquire both land Ijebu Royalty privileges through fraud. Sometimes in 2015, the land grabbers conspired amongst themselves and used a forged Survey Plan No: BDP/OG/95/116 dated 26th June, 1995 to file a court action at the Ogun State High Court, Ijebu Ode. The land grabbers were discovered vide the said filed Survey Plan to have created one fictitious SANGOKOYA OFIRIGIDI. A clear act of impersonation and forgery of a name similar to the authentic founding and ruling dynasty of Erebe, the OLOJA ADEKOYA OFIRIGIDI ANIKINAIYA DYNASTY.

HRM OBA Anikinaiya FUGBAJOYE, the Awujale of Ijebuland (1821 - 1851) by his wife, EFUBISE, only child of Oloja Aparimo Olumogbe Efututu of Erebe Ijebu begat Prince Adekoya Ofirigidi. Princes of the Awujale do not reside in Ijebu Ode metropolis in the olden days. This accounts for why settlements of Awujale princes usually identified by the prefix "Odo" abound in Ijebuland. This tradition of Awujale princes settling outside Ijebu Ode was referred to as "P'odo" meaning to establish. Ofirigidi's Odo is called Odo Mago at Erebe Ijebu. Same Awujale Anikinaiya founded Ejinrin market in 1836, granted Isiwo land to Petu following his arrival in Ijebuland after the Egba/Ado war around 1847 and also included him in the Agemo band of Ijebuland. HRM Awujale Anikinaiya granted Oba Kosoko and his relations (now Eko Epe) asylum at Epe See: Page 5 and 6 of the Intelligence Report on Odolagaye by Captain J.A Mackenzie, 1940. SOJOURN OF OLOJA ADEKOYA OFIRIGIDI ANIKINAIYA TO IMOTA Prince Adekoya (Ofirigidi) Anikinaiya left Erebe and went on to found and became first Oba of Imota town via Ikorodu in Lagos State. Some of his descendants remain at Itun Opopo quarters of Imota to this day. History asserts that Oloja Adekoya Ofirigidi Anikinaiya son of Oba Anikinaiya was given four Beaded Crowns and an entourage of 201 slaves by the AWUJALE ANIKINAIYA on his voyage to found Imota. When Ranodu Atankale arrived IMOTA from Isopo Quarters, Sagamu he met OLOJA ADEKOYA Ofirigidi Anikinaiya on the throne who directed him to go and stay behind the walls of the town to propitiate the Oro deity named after Liworu, Oloja Adekoya Ofirigidi Anikinaiya's father in law who had sent the deity and it's priest. Oloja Adekoya Ofirigidi Anikinaiya on his return to Erebe owing to a palace coup at Imota settled his loyal subjects led by Senlu an Ifa priest on a land known this day as ITUN IMOTA meaning quarter of the people of Imota. CONNECTION OF MAKUN SAGAMU TO EREBE The Ekewa - Olu meaning 10th Awujale of Ijebuland, Obaruwa-muda bore Princess Ewusi who bore three (3) sons namely; Arapetu, Liworu and Obaloran. While Arapetu and Liworu settled and reigned successively as heads of Makun town now part of Sagamu adopting their mother's name "Ewusi" as title. Obaloran settled at Ode Remo and took up the title Olode. Liworu son of Ewusi daughter of Obaruwa bore Princess Ikupoloro, wife of Oloja Adekoya Ofirigidi Anikinaiya. Eight daughters of Ojelobaye compound of Makun arrived Erebe and stayed with their Royal aunt, PRINCESS IKUPOLORO when Agbele Orile (homestead of Makun-Sagamu) was ravaged by war in the year 1860. The eight daughters of Oje from Erebe married from various towns and villages namely; Ibido, Omu, Ketu, Igbile, Irete, Ibefun, Imota and Ososa. Their descendants are referred to as "OMO OLUMAKU" in those towns to this day. THE ESTABLISHMENT OF OWU-OMU IN EREBE IJEBU Orile Owu (Owu Ipole), the homestead of Owu people of Yorubaland was besieged by a combined army of IJEBU, OYO and IFE which left Owu disintegrated leaving her people scattered all over Yorubaland. Among the Owu's which arrived Ijebuland was a section led by ADEKIYERI son of Olowu Adebejoye accompanied by a section of Egba Igbehin led by Arawun Lugbehin. The father of OLOJA ADEKOYA OFIRIGIDI ANIKINAIYA of EREBE IJEBU, HRM OBA ANIKINAIYA FUGBAJOYE was the Awujale of Ijebuland on the throne during the Owu war between the years 1822 and 1829 as well the period of arrival of the Owu war refugees to Ijebuland around 1850. HRM, Oba Anikinaiya Fugbajoye ordered his Odis to take the Owu-Egba migrant party to Erebe. The migrant party were hosted at a site originally populated with Odu vegetables called OJODU (Oju-Odu) quarters at Erebe to this day. Having being fed night shade vegetables "efo- odu" for several days before being granted land (OMU) on which they settled, the migrants acquired the appellation "Omu Ajodu" meaning OMU people who fed on Odu vegetables which they bear to this day. OMU was derived from fern leaves "Imu" originally found on its site.

HISTORY OF EREBE IJEBU AND ENVIRONS EREBE IJEBU is an ancient town in Odogbolu Local Government of Ogun State, Nigeria. It is the first settled town in her area comprising of Irete, Odo-Jobore, Omu and Ketu communities. Erebe's (Eri-Ebe) name was derived from it's peculiarity as a town of refuge. According to tradition now extinct, people from far and near usually sought refuge at Erebe to escape punishment. Once such persons on the run "asaforijis" arrived Erebe, their assailants retreats in deference to the traditional authority of the town's ruler. Over time this settlement blessed with year-round flowing stream wherein people sought refuge began to be referred to as "Eri-Ebe" (Erebe) stream of appeasement. Eri means Stream while Ebe mean appeasement. The settlement age of Erebe-Ijebu is dated back to around the 18th century when Prince APARIMO OLUMOGBE EFUTUTU, son of the Awujale armed with Beaded Crown "Ade", Scepter "Ipawo", Royal drums "Gbedu", Priests of Molokun, Esu, Eluku, Ewuji, Maseun, Ota Gborowo Ebiti Ele, Ogun, Orisanla and other divinities with a retinue of slaves settled EREBE as prescribed by Ifa oracle. Aparimo Efututu maternally hailed from Ilare Quarters, Ile Ife. Aparimo Efututu with the royal insignia bequeathed to him by the Awujale ruled EREBE with the dynastic title of Oloja. Oloja is properly translated in the Ijebu context as owner of the town not owner of the market. The Ijebu term for market is "Obu" (Oduwobi 2006:154). The Chief totem of EREBE "Oro" is named after the town's founder and called ''Oro Aparimo'' this day. IRETE: AN OFFSHOOT SETTLEMENT OF EREBE Princess "Erelu" OYENUYI, a descendant of the second ruler (Dagburewe) of Idowa, Oba Jadiara settled Odo Jobore whereat she married MOORE from Erebe. According to Dr. Badejo Oluremi Adebonojo in page 43 and 46 of his book: Itan Ido Ijebu published in 1990, GBOGBO-OLU, son begotten by Princess Oyenuyi for Moore founded IRETE town. Gbogbo-Olu was very much alive and reigning as the ruler "Oloolu" of Irete as at period of the settlement of Owus at Omu in or around 1850s following the Owu war of 1822 - 1829. Contrary to a recent fantastic arrangement and distortion of historical fact that one Otufesojoye, one Anowoneyo and one Ademoyegun were appointed from IRETE to rule as Obas (Dagburewe) of IDOWA in the years 1594, 1702 and 1821 respectively. According to History as confirmed by the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba (Dr) Sikiru Olukayode Adetona, Ogbagba II, GCON vide Suit:HCJ/18/2018 - Otunba Abdulateef Owoyemi & Ors. Vrs. Otunba M.O Balogun & 1Or. the Fusengbuwa Ruling House of the Awujale, Agunsenbi Quarters, Ijebu Ode appointed every past Dagburewe of Idowa till the year 1954. The one and only Anowoneyo who ever lived and was appointed as Oba of Idowa town was HRH Oba Moses Okulote Anowoneyo (1910 - 1926), son of Gbogbo-Olu of Irete. The foundation of Irete from Erebe accounts for why sons and daughters of Irete are praised to this day as "OMO MOORE ATO L' EREBE, OMO ODUDUWA" meaning descendants of Moore Atorin in Erebe Ijebu, descendants of Oduduwa. The fact that Irete and Erebe since time immemorial relate as a family is detailed in the popular saying "RE SEKU NI EREBE RAN MI PE NI IRETE" meaning it is the remaining section of Erebe land that is called Irete. Till date, Irete community visits Erebe once in a year to worship their ancestor "Moore" who had been deified as the Chief totem "Oro Moore" for Irete town. As asserted by historians; Erelu Ebijere Oloja of Erebe, Lajade Ekungboseru of Odo Jobore and Moore of Irete were relations from Ijebu Ife. EREBE IJEBU: THE HOMESTEAD OF OLOJA ADEKOYA OFIRIGIDI ANIKINAIYA LINEAGE OF AWUJALE ANIKINAIYA RULING HOUSE

So-Safe Nab Scavenger for Robbing and Brutalizing Shepherd The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested a scavenger who sneaked into the church and brutally attacked the Shepherd, Tella Orelope. According to a press release issued by the State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, said the incident occurred at the Celestial Church of Christ, Orelope Parish, Abule Owe, Greenland Community along Randa, Abeokuta North Local Government Area. On July 18, 2024, at about 4pm the Corps received information that the Shepherd was under attack by armed robbers. The Special Squad of the Corps, led by ACC Elijah Ogundimu, was deployed to rescue the victim and apprehend the suspects. Upon arrival, the team found the victim with severe injuries, including a chopped off finger and ear. The suspect, Ibrahim Ridwan, 24, who resides under a scavengers shed behind railway Police Station, Lafenwa, Abeokuta, was apprehended at the scene. Ridwan confessed that his mission was to loot the Church, the Shepherd's motorbike, electronic appliances, cables, etc. He also admitted to attacking the Shepherd's wife who heard the noise and tried to escape.
