❖ CNS tumors are the second most common type of malignancy in children. Only leukemia is more common. ❖ The majority of CNS tumors in children are infratentorial. ❖ The most common types of primary CNS tumors in children are cerebellar astrocytoma and medulloblastoma. ❖ The majority of CNS tumors in adults are supratentorial in location. ❖ The most common types of primary CNS tumors in adults are glioblastoma multiforme, meningioma, and acoustic neuroma.
