🍀 Good news for XRP! This week, their lawsuit with the SEC finally ended. Ripple emerged victorious.
Here's how it was:
🌋 December 22, 2020 — The SEC filed a lawsuit against Ripple and its management. The charge: illegal sale of XRP for $1.3 billion.
XRP collapsed from ~$0.50 to ~$0.21.
🌋 December 29, 2020 — Coinbase and other exchanges began delisting XRP.
The token fell below $0.20.
🌋 April 6-9, 2021 — The court allowed Ripple to obtain SEC documents on BTC/Ether and rejected requests for financial information from management.
XRP rose to $1.47, the highest since 2018.
🌋 July 15, 2021 — The court allowed the questioning of William Hinman (former SEC director).
XRP was trading at ~$0.60–0.70, a moderate increase.
🌋 March 11, 2022 — The court allowed Ripple's "fair notice" defense.
XRP rose by 15%, to ~$0.84.

New ETH price forecast. Standard Chartered experts set a target for Ethereum by the end of 2025 at $4,000. If this seems optimistic to you, they actually lowered their forecast significantly. Their previous target was $10,000 by the end of 2025 🌋

Ethereum is losing its power. At one point in June 2017, it held 25-30% of the overall crypto market share, just behind Bitcoin. In 2022-2024, it held around 15-18% of the market. Today, the ETH Dominance Index has fallen to a modest 8.5%.
Why? 🧐
In fact, this is not so much a defeat for Ethereum as a victory for Bitcoin. BTC rose to all-time highs in 2024-2025, thanks to improving macro conditions (Fed rate cuts, slowing inflation) and a massive influx of institutional capital through spot ETFs and corporate purchases. Regulators have given BTC the status of a commodity, which has led to its market share growing to ~55% and has reinforced the “digital gold” narrative. This has given it an advantage not only over ETH, but also over a number of other altcoins. Ethereum failed to repeat the 2021 record due to legal uncertainty (especially in the staking sphere), competition with other blockchains, and evolutionary rather than revolutionary updates. Investors preferred safe BTC, leaving ETH with smaller inflows and active short positions, which further restrained its growth 🍀
But it is too early to write off Ethereum. Just a few days ago, the Ethereum Foundation opened a long position on ETH for $182,000,000, with the liquidation level at $1127. This suggests that they still believe in the project and are ready to invest large sums 🤞
In addition, Ethereum, although losing in value, remains the largest blockchain infrastructure - modern, technological, reliable. Its reputation is comparable to that of Bitcoin, while the structure allows you to keep the blockchain relevant and implement new technological solutions.

There WILL be a Bitcoin Reserve
⚡️ Trump signs executive order to formally create BTC Strategic Reserve and "Digital Asset Reserve"
Until now, there were doubts about whether a strategic reserve would be created or whether this was pre-election populism. Now we finally see concrete legal decisions in this direction.
The government will not buy additional assets (at least so far), but will use confiscated Bitcoin and other digital assets. And if you think that the confiscated BTC is a drop in the ocean, here is an interesting fact for you. Currently, the U.S. government's wallet balance has increased by nearly $10 billion.

🥷 Sometimes you have to lose to learn to appreciate.
What would you say if BTC was worth $81k in October 2024? If you already hold, you would be happy. And if you don't have Bitcoin, you would probably say "Bitcoin is too expensive, it's too late to buy".

🧐 What is liquidation? Why so many traders face it nowadays?

Liquidation happens when a leveraged position’s (one that is opened using borrowed funds) collateral can’t cover its losses, causing the exchange to close the position automatically.
Example: if a trader puts up 1 ETH as collateral and uses 10x leverage, a 10% drop in price can wipe out the position. High leverage plus sharp market swings often leads to forced liquidations. When the market suddenly goes down sharply, liquidations can reach billions of dollars.
Sometimes it can be very painful, so you should use leverage very carefully.

🥷 A cautionary tale.
This weekend, Argentine President Javier Milei tweeted a contract for a meme coin called "LIBRA." Of course, it attracted attention and investment. The token grew to a market cap of $4.59 billion 🌋
It turned out that his account had been hacked (which was obvious to many). As a result, the token's market cap fell by 96% from its peak.

🥷 Satoshi personality may be leaked!
Coinbase manager Conor Grogan found that one main recipient in a cluster of Satoshi Nakamoto-linked wallets is 1PYYj. This address once received BTC from CaVirtEx, a Canadian exchange later bought by Kraken. If KYC data for 1PYYj is kept, Kraken might hold clues to Nakamoto's identity. Grogan even advised deleting it.
Nothing like this would ever happen if you only use DEXs. They are anonymous and decentralized 🦾
