4. Trakea:  Haryana Police has adopted a unique barcoding software called ‘Trakea’ to ensure that forensic reports, that form the backbone of the criminal investigation system, are not tampered with.  Trakea is a forensic evidence management system that helps in automation of the entire procedure, right from the stage when forensic experts collect vital samples from the scene of crime to conducting analysis of the samples, followed by tracking case wise forensic reports electronically through barcodes.  Even the selection of forensic teams is done randomly through this software.  The software was originally designed by a prisoner who was lodged in Bhondsi jail for 13 months, and was adopted after certain modifications to suit the specific requirements of the Haryana Police.

3. Juice Jacking:  Recently State Bank of India issued a warning of 'Juice Jacking', a new-age nefarious technique that can infect mobile phones with malware at public spaces such as airports and train stations.  Juice Jacking fraud is when charging points are used to steal data from the phone.  Once a victim plugs his/her phone, the device can bypass the phone security to inject malware in it and steal entire contents of the phone including contact details, emails, messages, photos, private videos, and sensitive financial credentials.  The fraudster can also put a malware which can continuously compromise the phone even when it is plugged out.

2. Einstein’s theory of general relativity: • In 1905, Albert Einstein determined that the laws of physics are the same for all nonaccelerating observers and that the speed of light in a vacuum was independent of the motion of all observers. • As a result, he found that space and time were interwoven into a single continuum known as space-time. • Events that occur at the same time for one observer could occur at different times for another. This was the theory of special relativity. • In 1915, Einstein published his theory of general relativity. In it, he determined that massive objects distort space-time, which is felt as gravity. • Gravitational lensing and gravitational waves are strong evidence for Einstein’s theory of general relativity.

2. KESSLER SYNDROME: (also called the Kessler effect, collision cascading or ablation cascade) • Proposed by the NASA scientist Donald J. Kessler in 1978. It is a scenario in which the density of objects in low Earth orbit (LEO) is high enough that collisions between objects could cause a cascade where each collision generates space debris that increases the likelihood of further collisions. • One implication is that the distribution of debris in orbit could render space activities and the use of satellites in specific orbital ranges impractical for many generations.

Day 22: September 13 1. SUPERSONIC MISSILE ASSISTED RELEASE OF TORPEDO (SMART): • It is a missile assisted release of lightweight Anti-Submarine Torpedo System for Anti-Submarine Warfare or ASW operations far beyond Torpedo range. • The launch and demonstration are significant in establishing Anti-Submarine warfare capabilities. • It takes off like a regular supersonic missile when launched from a warship or truck-based coastal battery.
