سئل الإمام الألباني-رحمه الله-: هل التسمية بالسلفية يعني تزكية النفس؟ فأجاب : هذا رجل لا يفقه معنى السلفية حتى يقول أنها تزكية؛ السلفية يعني الإسلام الصحيح، فالذي يقول: أنا مسلم أو أنا ديني الإسلام كالذي يقول: أنا سلفي.
