CANCELLATION OF THE MID-TERM BREAK FOR BASIC SCHOOLS

As part of efforts to recover instructional hours lost during the recent industrial action, Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to inform the public that the two-day mid-term break for basic schools, scheduled for November 5 and 6, 2026, has been called off.
Therefore, all basic schools are expected to open and conduct normal academic activities on Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6, 2026.
Teachers, students, parents, guardians and the general public are kindly advised to take note and be guided accordingly.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued commitment to quality education.

1. Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has received reports that some individuals are demanding GHĀ¢210 from teacher promotion applicants under the pretext of facilitating their applications.
2. Management wishes to emphasise that the teacher promotion process is fair, transparent and entirely free of charge.
3. Applicants are, therefore, advised to ignore any demands and refrain from making payments to individuals who claim they can facilitate or influence the promotion process.
4. Applicants should follow only the official procedures and guidelines communicated by the Ghana Education Service.
