You have to know the root cause of that legal expenses made by the company....
FOR EXAMPLE :
A company put the gas pipelines under the ground by investing 250 crores and it passed through hundreds of villages like through the Paddy fields , near drinking water wells etc... so thousands of villagers filed complaints against that company...
So that company approached advocate to defend them and paid him 5000 as fee,
See here the fee amount may be immaterial but this case includes 250 crores of investment, farming, lives of thousands of people, provision, liabilities and AGM report...
BASED ON THIS CASE , HERE LEGAL EXPENSES ARE MATERIAL
So materiality in case of legal expenses based on the litigation not on the expenses made.
