182nd Anniversary of Hongkong Foundation Day
香港開埠歷史悠久，歷來都會舉行各種慶祝活動，但自主權移交後，重要日子都被慢慢淡忘。香港人有義務保衛我哋嘅文化，繼續承傳和宣揚佢哋。
1841年1月26日，英國皇家海軍喺上環水坑口 Possession Point 舉行屬領禮，成為英國屬土。在海軍嗚槍禮、英國國旗升起後，香港正式開埠。
香港喺近150年殖民管治期間，由沿海小埠蛻變為東方之珠。本地社會揉合東西元素，發展出獨有又自豪嘅文化、語言、習俗、世界觀，造就咗香港嘅民族性。
香港人雖然逐漸離散在世界各地，但民族不必只以土地為界。香港人理應謹記自己嘅文化歷史，繼續慶祝香港嘅重要節日！

HK1841 今日以港裔身份獻花，虞美人花圈配搭咗 #香港紋章 以誌香港族群。亦都同幾位曾喺香港服役嘅退役軍人傾偈交流，包括 港裔前英兵、喺70年代起到港服役嘅英軍 同 曾參與英軍徹出香港事宜嘅皇家軍需部隊成員。呢啲珍貴紀錄將會再分享，留意住我哋！

呢個星期相信大家喺英國同其他英聯邦國家，都見到途人戴住 #虞美人花。而虞美人花喺各大車站、超市都可以買到。至於配戴方法大致上：
•擺喺左胸 心口上面
•將塊葉拍向十一點方向 *
•最重要嘅係 - 尊重
*象徵一戰喺1918年11月11號，法德代表喺巴黎一架火車上簽署停火協議，喺同日11點正式停火。
英國退伍軍人協會 亦講過：
“There is no right or wrong way to wear a poppy. It is a matter of personal choice whether an individual chooses to wear a poppy and also how they choose to wear it.” 大概係冇既定戴法，最重要係有心去紀念！

上星期六由Royal British Legion RBL舉辦，於Manchester 舉行的虞美人花募捐活動（Poppy Appeal），HK1841亦有成員以義工身份參與。現場所見不少香港人踴躍捐輸，亦有不少父母帶同下一代到場，義買虞美人花之餘，也向下一代傳承香港與和平紀念日的緣由。
