On the topic of the original ISIS. They're textbook on how not to run a militant group. They had territory in Iraq and Syria the size of the UK and could have easily kept it as is for a while building up but like idiots they ruined that. First by executing American journos they captured in the most public way possible to on purpose instigate a US response. Which at the time, despite the rise of ISIS. The American populace was firmly against any intervention due to being sick of being in the middle east. They then attacked France as well bringing in all of NATO to intervene against them. Which yeah NATO was going to attack them eventually, especially if they took Baghdad which they could have at the time, but instigating it ASAP while you're still building up is retarded. They then attacked the Kurds despite the Kurds not wanting war with them. Leading to even more fronts for ISIS to deal with. All of this leading to their eventual demise.

All while attempting assassinations on Taliban officials. Russia's FSB, while not the most trustworthy, openly stated how ISIS-K are just low IQ idiots being used by the CIA to weaken the Taliban while justifying US presence through drones in the country.. We're dealing the same issues.
