Continuation of the linux commands ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ ✳️ sudo command 🔹 Short for “SuperUser Do”, this command enables you to perform tasks that require administrative or root permissions. However, it is not advisable to use this command for daily use because it might be easy for an error to occur if you did something wrong. ✳️ chmod command 🔹 chmod is another Linux command, used to change the read, write, and execute permissions of files and directories. 🔹 We can use chmod to make a file executable and to change the permissions granted to it in Linux. Imagine you have a python code named hackerzhome.py in your computer. You'll need to run “python hackerzhome.py” every time you need to run it. Instead of that, when you make it executable, you'll just need to run “hackerzhome.py” in the terminal to run the file. To make a file executable, you can use the command “chmod +x hackerzhome.py” in this case. You can use “chmod 755 hackerzhome.py” to give it root permissions or “sudo chmod +x hackerzhome.py” for root executable ✳️ ping command 🔹 Use the ping command to check your connectivity status to a server. For example, by simply entering ping google.com, the command will check whether you’re able to connect to Google and also measure the response time. ✳️ apt-get command 🔹 Use apt to work with packages in the Linux command line. Use apt-get to install packages. This requires root privileges, so use the sudo command with it. For example, if you want to install the text editor jed, we can type in the command “sudo apt-get install jed”. Similarly, any packages can be installed like this. It is good to update your repository each time you try to install a new package. You can do that by typing “sudo apt-get update”. You can upgrade the system by typing “sudo apt-get upgrade”. We can also upgrade the distro by typing “sudo apt-get dist-upgrade”. The command “apt-cache search” is used to search for a package. If you want to search for one, you can type in “apt-cache search jed”(this doesn't require root). ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Keep supporting us❤️ @hackersworldunited

🔴 Here is some of basic Linux commands with explanation: 🔴 ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ ✳️ pwd command 🔹 Use the pwd command to find out the path of the current working directory that(folder) you’re in. The command will return an absolute path. ✳️ cd command 🔹 To navigate through the Linux files and directories, use the cd command. It requires either the full path or the name of the directory, depending on the current working directory that you’re in. 🔹 Let’s say you’re in /home/hackersworldunited/Documents and you want to go to Photos, a subdirectory of Documents. To do so, simply type the following command: "cd Photos". 🔹 Another scenario is if you want to switch to a completely new directory, for example, /home/hackersworldunited/Movies. In this case, you have to type cd followed by the directory’s absolute path: cd /home/hackerzhome/Movies. 🔹 Use cd .. (with two dots) to go to the previous directory ✳️ ls command 🔹 The ls command is used to view the contents of a directory. By default, this command will display the contents of your current working directory. 🔹 If you want to see the content of other directories, type ls and then the directory’s path. For example, enter ls /home/hackersworldunited/Documents to view the content of Documents. ✅ There are variations you can use with the ls command: 👉 ls -R will list all the files in the sub-directories as well 👉 ls -a will show the hidden files 👉 ls -al (or) ls -l will list the files and directories with detailed information like the permissions, size, owner, etc. ✳️ mkdir command 🔹 Use mkdir command to make a new directory — if you type mkdir hackersworldunited it will create a directory called 'hackersworldunited". ✳️ rmdir command 🔹 If you need to delete a directory, use the rmdir command. However, rmdir only allows you to delete empty directories. ✳️ rm command 🔹 The rm command is used to delete directories and the contents within them. If you only want to delete the directory — as an alternative to rmdir — use rm -r. We will post many more commands like this by daily basis.. learn atleast 5 commands per day instead of learning everything in a day and get confused.. if u cant wait, then check out the linux cheatsheet below .. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Keep supporting us❤️ @hackersworldunited
