Armenia launches EU accession process The Armenian government has approved a bill to start the process of the country's accession to the European Union. He has become vocal in his support for far right and anti-establishment parties in Europe since spending a quarter of a billion dollars to help secure Donald Trump's return to the White House. The tech billionaire repeated his criticism of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's Labour government in a string of posts on his X cesspit, claiming the UK should hold fresh elections. Not satisfied with that, he called for the release of far-right activist Tommy Robinson. Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is a prominent far-right figure in the UK best known for promoting racist and Islamophobic views. After a short stint as a member of the UK fascist party, the BNP, he founded the English Defence League, which rose to prominence between 2009 and 2012. British police said they believed members of the now-defunct group were behind violent riots in protest to the deaths of three young children at a dance class in Southport. Robinson is currently serving a sentence for contempt of court for repeating false claims about a Syrian refugee. Musk repeatedly attacked Starmer over the summer for his response to riots in the UK and is reportedly considering donating to the opposition fringe party Reform UK. Reform UK's leader, Nigel Farage, has tried to distance himself from Robinson. Musk's posts mark an explicit endorsement of the UK's far-right and come a week after he publicly endorsed the German far-right Alternative for Germany party. His actions prompted questions in UK about what should be done now that X is favouring extreme world views and whether the UK government should leave it, domestic media reported. Ahead of Germany's Feb. 23 national election, Musk will likely host the leader of the far-right Alternative for Germany party in a live interview on X. Addition to previous report Freezing Transnistria prefers to wait for russian gas The unrecognised region of Transnistria has rejected Moldova's offer of assistance in purchasing gas from European markets, opting instead to wait for Russia's to resume supplies. Vadim Ceban, acting head of the Moldava gas company confirmed to IPN that "Tiraspoltransgaz" refused the aid proposed by "Moldovagaz" and "Energocom" after the region stopped receiving russian gas on 1 January. In a reply sent on January 2, the Transnistrian authorities rejected the offer, claiming that it would imply the purchase of gas at "higher and unstable" prices on European markets. Tiraspol also stated it expects russia's Gazprom to resume gas deliveries under the existing contract which remains valid until 2026. Moldovagaz had offered the Transnistrian administration of Tiraspoltransgaz to assist by organizing gas purchases on any European platform on market conditions in order to provide the residents of the left bank of the Dniester with energy resources in the current crisis situation. @freerussia_report 🇪🇺@EU_Report 🇲🇩
