Anticoagulant (Blood Thinner)

Originally obtained from Porcine intestinal mucosa (Pig intestine)
🟢 3️⃣ Mechanism of Action:
Heparin Antithrombin III को activate करता है →
Thrombin (Factor IIa) और Factor Xa को inhibit करता है →
👉 Blood clot बनने से रोकता है.
🔵 4️⃣ Route of Administration:
✔ IV – Immediate effect
✔ Subcutaneous (SC) – Most common
❌ IM route contraindicated (Hematoma risk)
🟣 5️⃣ Indications:
• Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
• Pulmonary Embolism
• Myocardial Infarction (MI)
• Dialysis में
• Post-operative thrombosis prevention
🟡 6️⃣ Monitoring Test:
✔ aPTT (Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time)
