A great technique I learnt recently to control your temptations When you're about to give in, ask yourself: "How is this gonna make me feel 10 mins from now?" Ask it before watching porn, consuming drugs, etc. The answer you'll often get is...the fucking same. Nothing will change. You're not going to feel happier. Then, look at your life. Is it how you want it to be? No. Alright, so you don't like your current life. And what you're about to do is not going to make it any better 10 mins from now, or even 10 years from now. You're going to be exactly where you're now. The same fucking person. Justifying doing the same stupid things. Let this realization seep in. Believe in it. And you'll stop yourself. Try this a few times. You don't have to follow the process step by step. Most of it will happen intuitively within seconds. But you'll have to believe in it. You have to "actually" imagine your life 10 years from now. Let your mind understand how terrible it is. This has been doing wonders for me. It's similar to the technique of adding urgency to your why's I mentioned in this post: https://t.me/basedzone/618 Use these 2 methods together, and you'll never give in to your temptations. Welcome to all the new members. Quite a few have joined since yesterday. I have taken most of the weekend off. Though we're running an accountability challenge for the weekend. Sunday isn't over yet. You can still join in if you'd like. You just have to mention at least 1 task you'll be doing. Preferably something you have been postponing for a while. Normal posts will resume tomorrow. Have a Based Day and thanks for joining.

I want to see at least 20 responses If you're so afraid to commit to something, how in hell are you going to achieve your goals

Oh, and before I go. Let's do accountability once more. List at least 1 thing you're going to do this weekend. I am going to do a water fast for as long as I can, read a lot, and stay away from devices for most of the time. Will see you on Sunday evening.

Taking the weekend off. Take care. Have a Based rest of the week.

Now, this doesn't mean you justify not being at your best. NO. If you're regularly not at your best, you need to find the root of your problem and fix it. The only time you should accept not being at your best, is when you have been giving you best for days and weeks. Only then, you deserve some rest. If not, you need to add more momentum. Your body has gotten used to being ideal. Give it the push it needs.

Something that took me a long time to learn: You cannot always be at your best. There will be days where your creative and resilient mind will ask for rest. The best thing you can do, is not stress about it. Cause the moment you stress about it, you'll look for ways to reduce the stress (porn and Netflix).

"Sinners often speak the truth. And saints have led people astray. Examine what is said, not the one who says it."

Here's something I recommend you all to do: Create a Twitter account. Either anon or personal. Start tweeting today. What to tweet: -Anything you have knowledge about -1 thing you should be telling yourself today, or 1 thing you should be doing today Why? 1. It will act as a daily reminder. Much more powerful than just saying to yourself. 2. You'll learn to articulate your thoughts. And this is the most important. Let me explain. Right now, many of you're stuck in life. You're facing some problem. That's the reason you're here (or you're just a friend, here to support me, cheers!) When you share your thoughts with the public, you naturally question everything you say. You don't want to give out ridiculous opinions. This will help you build the habit of ruthless introspection You'll challenge everything you do and believe in. You'll be able to catch your own bullshit and stop yourself before 1 terrible decision turns into 10 terrible decisions I know many won't do this because it requires commitment. Those who will do it, send me your Twitter handle. I'll regularly RT those who put out good content and help you improve. Have a Based Day

Counter-intuitively, the ones who call themselves "rational" are the easiest to trigger Never ignore or hide from your human nature. Accept it if you want to gain control over it.

I have talked a lot about introspection here and in my book. Now, let's talk about self-trust. There are 2 ways to build: 1. Mindset and affirmations 2. Competence I like to go the 2nd way, while making use of mindset and affirmations. The best way to build competence- learn something new consciously and act on it Focus on the word "consciously" If you don't learn something consciously and with intent, you're going to build more self-doubt than self-trust Your chances of failure will rise. So narrow down your focus when you're learning. Then over time, let the intuitive self-trust take over. Or build it, if you have to. How do you build the intuitive self-trust? About 70% of it comes naturally. For the rest 30%, track your progress to remind yourself of your wins, and practice affirmations
