«What love feels like…»
Part 1 (level C1)
Who am I?”: a question I kept on asking myself these days.
I came to the point when I was losing my energy and somehow sabotaging a chance to let my hair down and feel what it’s like to be free from goals.
I was stuck in this life for months or thruth be told for years. I guess there is no person on this planet, who doesn’t know what I mean.
But… the story is not about suffering and feeling deaf and blind. We both know what it feels like, don’t we? My story is about love.
And I’m sure you won’t argue with me about not having any idea of what it is. But we both know how it feels. How love feels. We do, don’t we?
And I desperately wanted to feel its spirit.
The idea came to spend my weekend somewhere different and finally I couldn’t resist the temptation to indulge my passion for freedom and connection. Freedom from goals and connection with the world.
I was looking for something that feels warm and at the same time powerful. Love? Love… But still not this love between a man and a woman. Not that. I was looking for something simple, peaceful and.. How can I put it? Tuneful, smooth… mellifluous! I had no idea what word can describe this. But as long as I could feel it, I didn’t care much about the word.
I really wanted to feel my soul, my body and have a quality time with my spirit. I was looking for home. And I found it.
The place I found to live in was an old house the owner of which was apparently a writer. I imagined him being an ancient Englishmen, who lived somewhere in India and spoke thousand of languages. His books felt both deep, spiritual and some of them quite surprisingly fancy. There were lots of magazines on fashion and design too. He might have been actually a man in his 40s, who just like me loved both retro and innovations. This place was marvelous!
I was entirely engulfed in reading although it wasn’t my plan. The windows of this apartment were covered by overgrown creeper plant which gave me a feeling I was in a deep village somewhere in the middle of nowhere. But I was in the centre of a Muslim country. A sprinkle of sweet absurdity. After spending the whole morning overwhelmed by reading, I decided to have a little stroll along
Istiklal Caddesi street.
The weather was beautiful. It was late spring or just the beginning of summer. The air felt so fresh.
So here I am walking along Istiklal Caddesi street trying not to bump into extremely hyperactive pedestrians, who are buzzing around like a swarm of bees … Buying, selling, eating and smiling so sincerely…
Me? I’m soaking up the delicious atmosphere of this sudden turmoil, drinking in the air of life. One of those precious moments of life you always try to slow down, taking your time and savoring every sip. A child of love kissed by the sun. This is how I felt.
I just wondered how much interest and sincere curiosity I suddenly developed for people. A light breeze is caressing my skin in a kind of flirty way. I feel so good watching all these families walking together with their kids laughing. I am totally enjoying my little stroll smiling and thanking God for giving us a chance to spend a weekend together.
But still deep down in the heart of hearts I was craving for the answers… I was still looking for home.
When suddenly I bump into a…
