I knew it that the moment Telegram added the Status tab, Meta was definitely going to do something to counter the number of people moving over to Telegram. When the "archive folder" feature was added to WhatsApp status, I thought that was the peak move to hold people back. But I was wrong! Guess what? A new feature was added to WhatsApp, today! Just like we have channels on Telegram, we now have channels on WhatsApp. That's to say, you can now create a WhatsApp Channel that can house thousands of people; just like on Telegram. MAKING MONEY ON SOCIAL MEDIA "How do I make money on social media" has got to be one of the most asked questions in the world. Funnily enough, there are tons upon tons of trainings on this particular subject, but yet, a lot of people out there, including you, are still yet to get clarity, act on it, and make the so-called money. Why? That's because it's a broad subject, and most of these coaches out there are either: - sharing what they learnt from another coach or learning platform (they lack experience) Or - just organising these classes to make money. There are different angles to answering this question, but I'll share one today. When it comes to making money on social media, there are two kinds of efforts you can channel – inbound and outbound marketing efforts. The difference is in their names – in and out. I'll explain below. 1. Inbound Marketing This deals with efforts you channel 'into' your social media brand, to get people interested in what you have to offer, reaching out to you. It's more about creating strategic content to help you: - attract your target audience - get them to trust you - make them reach out for your offers An example: I'm a social media manager, and to get clients via inbound marketing efforts, I – - Create content regularly to positions me as an expert in the field of social media marketing - I also often include a call to action, directing those needing in a social media manager to reach out. 2. Outbound Marketing Inbound is about what you do to get people interested in reaching out to you, while outbound is about what you do, to 'reach those' who have no idea you exist. Instead of trying to create content for years, build authority, and call for the sales, outbound marketing efforts require you to majorly just have verifiable distinct results in whatever it is you do. That's to say, you might have less than 500 followers on social media, and still land clients willing to pay you $2000 and even more monthly. . How often should I post on social media for growth? I get this question regularly. My answer is usually tied to two factors: 1. Know what works for you. This is about knowing the time you have left after doing other crucial things in your life. If you have a lot of time left, you'd have a lot of time to create and share more. 2. Know what works for the platform. This can be difficult to know. So, all you have to do is pay attention to other similar brands out there who are successful. The number of times they post should give you an insight into what works. Try to find a balance between what works for you and the platform. If you can't create the content yourself, then you should outsource it. At the end of the day, quality also matters a lot. The more value you give, the higher your chances of growth.
