You said you were waiting for the 1st of January, right? Well, it’s finally here! The sad truth is that you still don’t feel as ready as you want to be. And you’re already wondering if you should just wait until the 2nd of January. Or maybe even the 6th of January, because that marks the start of a new week in the new year. It’s understandable. I’ve been there and still struggle with it once in a while. The desire to have it all figured out before getting started. The problem is: You can’t always have it all figured out. By the time you do, it’s often already too late to act. It caused me to miss many opportunities in the past. So I worked on myself to ensure I learned the basics required and got straight into action. The outcome won’t always be perfect, But starting gives you an edge – you get feedback that you can use to improve for a better outcome. On Monday, the 30th of December 2024, I decided I would launch a community for those who want to grow their brands in 2025. I didn’t overthink it. I instantly created a WhatsApp group that morning, prepared content to share the good news, and launched it. In less than 24 hours, 400 people joined the group, and over 60 people showed up live that evening for the launch event. In the past, I wouldn’t have launched it. I’d have thought, “I need time to think, create ‘great’ content, make outstanding designs, and so on.” But not anymore! The same thing happened with my newsletter. After launching the community on the 30th, I decided I’d launch the newsletter the next day (31st December). The moment I woke up, I set it all up. I even stumbled on a roadblock. I wanted to start with beehiiv as my newsletter hosting platform, but it kept saying it wasn’t available for my region. I didn’t let that stop me. I instantly opted for an alternative – Substack. By the evening of the 31st of December, I launched the newsletter. As I type this, the first letter I’ll be sharing on the 1st of January has already been scheduled. I typed, edited, and scheduled it for 9 AM this morning. ___ As I learn and get ideas, I execute them. The outcome might not always be favorable, but I learn from it, fine-tune my approach, and go again. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Getting started is what matters the most. Practical Steps to Start Today: 1. Write down one thing you’ve been postponing because you feel unprepared. 2. Take the first actionable step toward it today, no matter how small. 3. Remind yourself that progress, not perfection, leads to growth. This is 2025… Drop the desire for perfection and the need to figure it all out before starting. This year, if you crave better results, focus more on taking action. Progress over perfection. I’m rooting for you! People overcomplicate Facebook. Listen, if you’re a beginner: Avoid: - Posting extremely long content. - Sharing content multiple times daily. - Reaching out to everyone for collaboration. Instead: - Figure creators that inspire. - Study them to see what's working. - Share easy to consume valuable content. - Comment strategically on the post of other users. You want to become a better person. You want to grow your brand. You want to make money. Whatever it is you want, don’t stop there... 1. Get specific about what you want to achieve. Instead of just saying, “I want to become a better person,” say, “I want to be able to keep my word.” 2. Write it down and review it regularly. Don’t just keep it in your mind. Write it down and review it regularly. This step is crucial for what comes next. 3. Map out your plan. Most goals never get achieved for two reasons: a. No plan on how to achieve them. • Plans could include: • Acquiring necessary resources. • Getting a mentor or coach. • And so on. b. The second reason leads to our next step—Execution! 4. Execute! Having a plan is not enough. Imagine this scenario: An old, wealthy, dying man told you about millions in cash he left for you. To get it, you’d have to: a. Buy an object. b. Keep it for a week. c. Give someone for examination. After all that, the person will give you the location of the stash. What does this mean for you? It means you’re a “potential” millionaire. You might be excited, but you’re not a millionaire yet. Who are you? You’re a potential millionaire. The only way you’ll become a millionaire is by executing the plan he shared with you. Do you get it now? Don’t stop at drafting your plans. Go all in on taking action. Only then will you see those dreams and goals of yours become a reality. ↓ I hope you find this helpful. If there’s one lesson I’ve learned from life and will always remember, it’s that we can’t have it all figured out. I would be lying to you if I said I’ve got it all figured out. The past few weeks have been filled with a lot of soul-searching and readjustments. There’s a lot out there to know, learn, and do. We can’t know it all (even the seemingly basic). There’s always an innate desire to act only when the path is crystal clear. That, in itself, is not a bad thing, but in the long run, it appears to be a huge disservice for two reasons: 1. It might never get clearer if you don’t take action. 2. It might become too late to take action when it does get clear. Notwithstanding, that shouldn’t be a reason to hold back for long. The path should often be to: • Learn what’s required, • Start with what’s available, • Adjust based on feedback. It’s our first life! We don’t even have to know it all— where’s the adventure in knowing it all? However, if we go all out, doing what’s required with what we can lay our hands on, it’ll only be a matter of time before we achieve the life of our dreams.
