If youāre free today, the community needs your help.
A group of migrant workers has been left without their salaries, and an urgent ground-up effort is being organised to provide them with food and daily essentials.
Drivers, volunteers and contributions are needed today.
A friend of ours, Jeremy, founder of Thirteen Employment Agency, is coordinating an urgent community effort today to support a group of migrant workers whose employer has reportedly disappeared without paying their salaries.
As a community built around cars, we know that sometimes the most meaningful use of our vehicles is simply helping to get essential supplies where they are needed.
As of 9am today, the initiative has raised approximately $1,000, with one car and two volunteers confirmed.
They are currently looking for:
ā¢ One or more additional drivers or vehicles
ā¢ Volunteers to help purchase and deliver groceries
ā¢ Contributions towards rice, bread and other essentials
ā¢ Reshares to help reach more people who may be able to assist
The team will be meeting at Giant Hypermarket at 1pm today to purchase the supplies before delivering them directly to the workersā accommodation.
All contributions will be used for food and essential groceries, with the spending fully tracked by the organiser.
For reference, $12 can provide approximately 5kg of rice, but every contribution, regardless of amount, helps.
