Hanoi Bikes" Jon Enoch Anyone arriving in Hanoi, Vietnam for the first time cannot help but be intimidated by the sheer number of motorcycles on the roads. Briton Jon Enoch's initial shock turned into admiration for mopeds, an integral part of Vietnamese daily life. With a looming ban on motorcycles in the city by 2030, Enoch returned to Vietnam in early 2019 to complete his "Hanoi Bikes" series. Enoch shows portraits of motorcycles loaded with huge loads. Their drivers, looking serenely into the camera in the light of street lamps, seem unfazed: a testament to the fact that motorcycles are part of Vietnamese culture. "There's that skill of loading a motorcycle to that level and knowing what your limits are, and then on top of that, getting to your destination with a fully intact load. These bikes allow small businesses to operate - it's hard to imagine what the city would look and feel like without them." Photo Shot
