The KDP’s official newspaper reported on its front page that the PKK has established “recruitment factories” in Sulaimani, where individuals are indoctrinated and trained before being sent to Qandil and Syria. Abdulkarim Waysi, a former PKK commander now affiliated with the KDP, claims that these facilities operate under the guise of civil society organizations. He listed several such as “Mesopotamia, Free Women, Tavgari Azadi, Rojava admin office, PKK’s Ezidi party, Jawanen Shreshger, PAJI org, APO Protectors organization,” among others. According to the report, these organizations recruit primarily in the outskirts of Sulaimani, including areas like Khanaqin, Kalar, Kifri. In response, PUK spokesman Saadi Pera accused the KDP of deliberately providing false information to Turkey to encourage it to attack Sulaimani. He criticized Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, stating, “As the Prime Minister, he should defend Sulaimani province and reject Turkey's threats instead of encouraging them.” @KurdishFrontNews

Demirtaş, 51, has been in custody since 2016. His imprisonment has drawn international criticism, with the European Court of Human Rights calling for his immediate release, arguing that his detention was intended to suppress political pluralism in Turkey. Turkish media reported that Demirtaş faced numerous charges, including undermining the unity and integrity of Turkey. The court in Sincan, Ankara, where Yüksekdağ was also sentenced, underscored the severity of the offenses attributed to the former HDP leaders. The sentencing has triggered significant unrest, particularly in the southern provinces with large Kurdish and Syrian communities. At least 14 provinces have declared four days of demonstrations in response to the court's decision, reflecting widespread discontent and fear of further instability. the Ankara court sentenced Merdin Mayor Ahmet Turk to 10 years in prison, further illustrating the Turkish judiciary's rigorous stance on political figures associated with the HDP. @KurdishFrontNews

The Turkish military appears to be constructing either more permanent outposts or new roads in the Kesta area of Amedi district, eastern Duhok province. Local residents report the presence of two excavators operating day and night for the past week, although the purpose remains unclear. Despite Turkey's control over this area since 2021, the locals claim this is the first time they have witnessed Turkish heavy machinery in operation in their area. However, beyond these hills, the Turkish military has constructed proper roads for military activities, connecting the area to the Turkish border. @KurdishFrontNews

Turkey's foreign minister stated that they would continue their "surgical operations" if Sulaimani (meaning PUK) persists in cooperating with the "virus" [PKK], although he stressed their desire for good relations with Sulaimani. His full statement: “We are engaging in open dialogue with Sulaymaniyah. Meetings are taking place, but they are not disclosed to the public. Because as I mentioned earlier, Sulaymaniyah is an ancient city. Sulaymaniyah, Mosul, Kirkuk, Erbil, and Zakho – in other words, these places have always been part of our geography and culture since the Ottoman era. We are a part of them, and they are a part of us. Sulaymaniyah has contributed many bureaucrats, religious figures, and scholars to the Ottoman Empire. It is truly a wonderful place. Unfortunately, it is painful that it has become a place influenced and controlled by a virus like the PKK." "We are clear in our meetings. We are not deceiving anyone. We say these men are bad. You do not need their help. We want our relations to be good, not bad. Do not support them, do not fight them, but do not allow them to use your airport. Otherwise, we will continue our surgical operations in Sulaymaniyah. We will not harm civilians. This is our capability, and we will continue to do so. I believe they understand now. Our measures continue, but I hope they understand." @KurdishFrontNews

“The main reason I left is because life is hard in Syria,” Turkey's mercenary Omar, 24, told AFP on message app WhatsApp from Niger. In northern Syria “there are no job opportunities besides joining an armed faction and earning no more than 1,500 Turkish lira ($46) a month,” Omar said, requesting like others AFP interviewed to be identified by a pseudonym for security reasons. Analysts say Ankara has strong ties with the new military regime in Niamey, in power since a July 2023 coup. And in recent months, at least 1,000 fighters have been sent to Niger “to protect Turkish projects and interests,” said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor. @KurdishFrontNews

Niger, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria in West Africa have become destinations for fighters from Syria, after Ankara began recruiting them through factions in the Syrian National Army (SNA), transporting them from northern Syria to these countries in exchange for financial sums. Under the banner of the Sultan Murad Division in the National Army, the recruitment and inclusion of fighters and civilians from areas in northwestern Syria take place, then they enter Turkish territory, and from there to West Africa. The path of this journey is vague in some of its details, which was partly uncovered by Enab Baladi, as the fighters are prohibited from carrying mobile phones, and the last stop for these devices is in the border village of Hawar Kilis in the Aleppo countryside, where fighters are gathered for transport. @KurdishFrontNews
