Some people say that in the modern world, getting old in entirely bad. Others, however, say that life for the elderly nowadays is much better than it was in the past. Discuss both views and give your opinion. The question of whether it is better to age in today’s world has been a topic of much debate. While for some, it is totally negative, yet for others, aging is now considered to be much better. While it should be admitted that both ideas are valid, I believe growing old gives more opportunities these days than ever before. On the one hand, one of the compelling reasons for the negatives of aging is social isolation. After retirement from work, elderly people can feel a sense of loneliness and depression, as they often have less communication with their colleagues and friends. In urban areas, where communities are less close-knit, impacts can be severe, resulting in anxiety, a decline in cognitive function, and even leading to a diminished sense of purpose. Another contributing factor is the financial insecurity that often comes with aging. To be specific, several factors, including age discrimination, can make it hard for the elderly to find better work in the job market. This, in turn, leads senior citizens to become financially vulnerable. Lastly, technological advancements can also be a factor, alienating older people from society. In today’s world, where technology is nearly connected to every facet of our lives, older people might not be able to learn computer literacy, feeling a sense of inadequacy and frustration. On the other hand, proponents of the view that aging has become much better in recent years believe that there are several reasons to support this claim. First, there have been significant improvements in medicine, especially in the field of chronic and mobility issues, which are often observed in old people. Now, medical treatments can considerably improve people’s life expectancy, enabling them to be active for long periods. Second, from recent shifts in society, it would be true to say that aging is more valued now than before. To be specific, elderly people are encouraged to pursue hobbies, volunteer, or participate in activities since aging is now viewed as a time for self-discovery and personal growth. The common term “active aging” can be a great case in point, as it has gained widespread popularity in many countries in recent decades. Third, technology has paved the way for old people to be socially active. Despite difficulties when using some complex apps, some user-friendly social websites have made it possible to communicate, relax, and enjoy, resulting in a greater sense of fulfillment. In conclusion, the concept of aging is nuanced and multifaceted. While social isolation, financial instability, and technological advancements are the main disadvantages of aging, the advantages, better medicine, high value of aging, and social interaction should not be overlooked. Considering both views, I firmly believe that the modern world offers greater opportunities for older adults than ever before. @edifyuz #EssayByMe

The bar charts illustrate how much time parents spend with their children during a week. Overall, while the amount of time spent by mothers is by far the highest on weekdays, the same is true for both parents on weekends. Additionally, the time fathers spend is generally the least in both charts. Starting with the weekdays, the amount of time mothers allocate is at the top of around 6 hours for all age groups from 0 to 9. In contrast, the figures for fathers show the least, with them spending about 2 hours for children aged 0-1, 4-5 and 8-9, and nearly an hour for those aged 2-3 and 6-7. Similarly, both parents spend around 2 hours for their children of all age groups. As for the weekends, patterns are somewhat different. To be specific, the figures for both parents dominate the chart with 6 hours, which is three times as much as the time spent by mothers. Lastly, fathers show the lowest figures, spending less than an hour for children of all ages except those aged 4-5. #EssayByMe @edifyuz

The bar charts give information about how many people of three age groups worked in three years: 1984, 2001, and 2014. In general, the percentage of people aged 35-44 was comparatively more in all years for both genders, whereas the reverse was true for those aged 60-64. Starting with males, those aged 35 to 44 topped the list, with the figure representing exact similar percentage (80%) in all years. It was followed by the figure for teenagers aged 15 to 19. Starting at over 60% in 1984 and stabilising in 2001, it then decreased by about 10 percentage points in 2014. In contrast, the proportion of elderly people saw a slight and then a significant rise to over 60%, surpassing teenagers in the last year. When it comes to females, they exhibited relatively lower trends when compared to their counterparts. In 1984, people aged 15-19 and 35-44 accounted for the highest portions, representing exact 60% and under 60% respectively. However, while the former remained unchanged, the latter witnessed a steady growth to 80% over the period. Similarly, the figure for those aged 60-64 also increased, even though the percentages were a bit lower from 10% in 1984 to over 40% in 2014. 202 words. #EssayByMe @edifyuz
