🏅Victory day🏅THANK YOU🏅 On the 9th of May TV networks broadcast World War ll-inspired films, younger generations honor veterans and the activities end up in a military parade. The most grandiose parade is held at Moscow’s Red Square. Speaking of the symbols of the Victory Day, they are: ▪St. George ribbons People wear black-and-orange ribbons on their clothes or tie them to car antennas as a sign of respect and remembrance. The black color of the ribbon means smoke and the orange color symbolizes flame. ▪Red carnations Blood red is the color of the Soviet flag under which the veterans had fought. Laying an even number of red carnations at war memorial sites signifies mourning because of the thousands of deaths happened during the war. ▪Red Star medal For Russians Red Star medals are military distinction for bravery. The 9th of May is a holiday which brings both happiness and sadness. At home families gather together to honor surviving witnesses of World War II and remember those who passed away.
