| 2 | What does it take to prepare the workforce for an AI-powered future?
The Adult Learning Collaboratory (ALC) Symposium discussed how experimentation can help organisations, workers, and learning providers navigate change and unlock new possibilities with AI.
As Associate Professor Renee Tan, Assistant Executive Director & Director of Research at IAL, shared, "the time for change is now." She highlighted the importance of bringing together industry, academia, and policymakers to test new ideas, learn from real-world applications, and embed meaningful innovations that can drive workforce transformation at scale.
Through research insights, industry showcases, and discussions on initiatives such as Domain+ and Future-Oriented Pedagogies (FOP), participants explored how experimentation can bridge the gap between learning and workplace impact.
Watch the video to hear more about the symposium and discover how collaboration can help shape a workforce that is ready for the future. | 318 |
| 3 | Most training delivers knowledge. Very little of it changes behaviour.
If learners aren’t doing things differently after training, here’s why. You’ll learn to:
• Design for behaviour change, not just retention
• Apply learning science to real workplace contexts

| 18 | Scaling a heritage brand is often less about increasing production and more about reimagining human potential.
With just 10 people, Rumah Kim Choo crafts handmade Peranakan kebayas and cultural products. When demand surged, they focused on scaling their staff, transforming retail staff into cultural ambassadors, storytellers, and artisans. This shift proves small teams can build big capabilities through workplace learning.
Rumah Kim Choo was among 28 organisations recognised at the Learning Enterprise Alliance (LEA) Awards 2026. Themed "Navigating Tomorrow Together," the ceremony celebrated a network of over 180 members committed to turning human capital into a sustained competitive edge through strategic collaboration.

| 20 | Is your organisation “skills-first”?
Real talk: A tertiary education doesn’t always tell you if someone can actually do the work they were hired to do. Moving beyond traditional job hierarchies will need a fundamental rethink of how we value our employees’ potential.
The Centre for Skills-First Practices (CSFP) Working Paper 3, “Skills-First: What Does It Mean for my Organisation?” deep-dives into why the world’s most resilient companies are moving past job titles and looking at what people can actually do.
Think of skills as your business’s real currency. Are you spending yours wisely or just following an old script? Swipe through to test your “Skills-First” knowledge and see if your strategy is ready for the future of work.
