The maps illustrate how Ashford has developed over the years. Overall, it's clear that the area has undergone significant changes, mainly in terms of residential and transport facilities. Over the years, it has become more accessible and greener. In 2010, Ashford was quite an isolated place with a few houses in the northwest, and they used to be accessed by a road that ran all the way to the city. There was a river called the Tam, which flowed from the south to the north, and people crossed it by ferry. The site also featured woodland on its northwest side. At present, the area is very different. One of the most noticeable changes is the replacement of the existing houses with high-rise buildings along the river. What's more, a bridge has been built to better connect the residential area to the city, and a marina was developed in the southern part to create opportunities for people to sail on the river. Finally, there is now more greenery in the southwest, which adds to the beauty of the site. #writing_t1
