The kuffar followed the footprints of the Prophet and continued to reach the cave. The Prophet and Abu Bakr were in the cave of Thor and they were looking at the desert from the crack through which they had entered. By the command of Almighty God, a spider had settled in the cave and spun a web. Pigeons had laid eggs there, so that anyone who saw this scene was sure that no one had passed through this gap for years and the inside of the cave was empty of any living creatures. Abu Karz, who had followed the footprints to the edge of the cave, stood there and said: "Muhammad and his friend did not pass through here, and they did not enter this cave, because if they had gone inside, these threads would have been torn and these eggs would have broken." I don't know anymore; Either they have sunk to the ground here or they have ascended to the sky!" It happened that some kuffar returned from the cave and dispersed again in the desert in search of the Messenger of God (PBUH) and some others searched around the cave. At this time, Abu Bakr was afraid and worried and started crying, and as God Almighty said in Surah Towba, verse 39; The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to him to reassure him: "La Tahzan An Allah Maana" means: "Do not be sad, for God is with us." And it is mentioned in some hadiths that Abu Bakr did not calm down after hearing this reassuring word.

مشرکین به دنبال رد پاها همچنان تا در غار پیش آمدند، پیامبر و ابوبکر در غار ثور بودند و از شکافی که از آن وارد شده بودند بیابان و صحرا را می نگریستند، به فرمان خداوند متعال عنکبوتی بر در غار منزل کرده و تار تنیده بود و کبکهائی در آنجا تخم گذاشته بودند بترتیبی که هر کس این صحنه را می دید یقین می کرد سالها کسی از این شکاف عبور نکرده و داخل غار از وجود هر جنبنده ای خالی است. ابوکرز که تا کنار شکاف غار رد پاها را دنبال کرده بود همانجا ایستاده و گفت: «محمد و رفیقش از اینجا نگذشته اند و داخل این غار هم نشده اند زیرا اگر درون آن رفته بودند این تارها پاره می شد و این تخم ها می شکست، دیگر نمی دانم؛ یا در اینجا به زمین فرورفته اند و یا به آسمان صعود کرده اند!» این شد که عده ای از مشرکین از مقابل غار بازگشته دوباره در بیابان در جستجوی رسول الله (ص) پراکنده شدند و عده ای دیگر در اطراف غار به جستجو پرداختند. در این هنگام ابوبکر ترسید و مضطرب شد و شروع به گریه کردن کرد و چنانچه خداوند متعال در سوره ی توبه آیه ۳۹ فرموده است؛ رسول الله (ص) برای اطمینان خاطرش به او گفت: «لا تحزن ان الله معنا» یعنی: «محزون مباش بدرستیکه خداوند با ما و به همراه ما ست». و در پاره ای از روایات آمده است ابوبکر با شنیدن این سخن اطمینان بخش نیز آرام نگرفت
