Our objective is to promote and advance sustainable democracy and to improve and consolidate electoral processes world-wide.
The lecture provides an overview of Switzerland’s political system and focuses one of its key features: direct democracy. Through the example of the referendum and the popular initiative system, the lecture will show how direct democracy works in Switzerland, and explain how it has contributed to consensus, political stability and economic prosperity in the Swiss case. We received a great honour from H.E. Mrs. Helene Budliger Artieda, Ambassador of Switzerland as an overview speaker. And also a wonderful lecture by Prof. Dr. Daniel Kübler, Professor at the Department of Political Science and co-director of the Centre for Democracy Studies at the University of Zurich Jump to: 0:04 - Opening Act 8:57 - Welcoming Speech by Professor Woothisarn Tanchai, Secretary of King Prajadhipok's Institute 16:54 - Overview lecture by H.E.
